Below is a link to a Norwegian scientific study (apologies if it has already been posted) which I thought some on here might find interesting.

Hi I have just watched this which goes into the genes and T cells on how our bodies are reacting to the gluten. its about 30 mins long and at the end there are questions, one of the doctors mentions that if we had a bone marrow transplant our CD would be cured, but it would be a very drastic step, I think they say its because the immune system would be completely different

Thanks for that - I will give it a go, I'm with you on the view that a bone marrow transplant is drastic but then again that depends on how ill you actually are doesn't it.

Hi Moggie, I don't think the doctors were suggesting a bone marrow transplant for a cure, it was something that they just mentioned towards the end of the video, anyway when you have time have a look

Trust me to get the wrong end of the stick - will have a listen tonight as I am not trusted to have sound on my works computer.lol.

I have already read the article on digestive enzymes, which ties in with the digestive enzyme Dr.Tom has just produced - not a licence to eat gluten but a helpful tool when you do accidently eat something with gluten in it as long as you take the enzyme straight after eating it.

Thanks again and will get back to you with my thoughts, for what they are worth, when I have listen.

Hi Moggie no it wasnt you at all, it was me mentioning it in the first place, it was an off the cuff remark made by one of the doctors near the end and I just thought it was interesting, not been medically trained i didn't know what effect bone marrow transplants had on the immune system and just thought it was interesting that they said it would cure CD, basically it must mean that we are given a totally different immune system when we have a bone marrow transplant.

They do show photos of the different enzymes in the video, don't know if its the one that Dr Tom is promoting.

I think they said that if you were to drink an acidic drink such as cola the enzyme works better than if you were to drink milk with your food.

Will watch and learn as there's always room for improvement - especially were I'm concerned.lol.

Bone marrow transplant - cost up to hundreds of £0000's, risk, pain, side effects - not to mention the donor. Replacing coeliac disease with a load of new side effects:
