Intolerance?

Hi I'm having a range of issues at the moment which could be due to interactions between the antidepressant in on and thyroxine (not getting enought thyroxine) as well as it causing some side effects.

The main issues are fatigue and muscular skeletal pain/ myalgia.

I've have a coeliac test and it was negative. I'm currently reducing the ad and raising the thyroxine. However, yesterday I had a big toast day, eating 5 slices throughout the morning (different toppings!). By around 6 my joints were very tender and aching and I felt swollen and inflamed. It's gradually eased over nigh but I feel pretty tired again.

I can also blame grappling with my toddler however I did this on Sunday too and not had such a noticeable 'flare' it could be a variety of other things but I just wondered if anyone else experienced this with gluten intolerance? Or coeliac?

TIA

Hi, I was in a similar situation. I dont appear to have Celiac, but I do have a gluten intilerance. I figured it out but cutting out all gluten for a month and then re-introducing it. I had terrible bloating, cramps and (sorry for that) went running to the bathroom 5 ! times the next day after having a peace of a carrot cake. You should try excluding it and see how your body reacts. Going gluten free made a difference for me. Though I' not on levo now, am taking NDT.

Thanks for your reply. The strange thing is I don't have any tummy issues at all. It's just muscular skeletal. It's slowly developed since I had my son 22 months ago.

I am going to try a month without and then reintroduce.

All I had before excluding gluten was occasional bloating (my stomach was like a baloon, it wasnt pleasant at all) that went away the next day. The doctors I turned to about it said it may be IRS, but they werent sure. And it was worsening with time until I went gluten free. Really hope that excluding gluten helps you with your problems. Good luck! Feel free to PM me if you have more questions.

My major symptom of problems with gluten was joint pain. Gluten can affect different parts of the body.

Joint pain including in my toes, is still an indicator that I was glutened. It hangs around for a week. I am gluten intolerant but not celiac - have all sorts of symptoms similar to celiac, including reactive joint pain. This has been the case for over 12 years. Muscle weakness was really bad before being GF for about 1 year - strictly GF. Using light weights has improved this. However, my symptoms can change a little over time but are still there if glutened.
