Definately, but you can only find out by observation and elimination- and take capsules not tablets for the headache!

Hi Milind,

I also had to take Soya and Dairy out of my diet because they were causing me to be very fatigued and a little dizzy (I escape having headaches though).

Generally speaking, I would suggest that food intolerances probably affect different people in different ways.

In my experience it has been very much a case of trial and error to pin down the problem foods.

Good luck figuring it out.

Hi, it might be worth keeping a diary of what gives you headaches. I have been told to stop drinking coke and eat less chocolate. If you have a lot of headaches I would go and see your doctor. Cheese can give you headaches. Hope you get sorted soon.

Hi Milind

As allanander suggests, it might be worth testing whether cola or chocolates trigger headaches in you (they do with my sister), but also look at whether or not you are hydrated enough. Sometimes simply being a bit dehydrated will trigger headaches.

Thanks a lot. I guess hydration could be an important factor

I have been having headaches recently and have put them down to tiredness and stress (new baby!) any changes in your life might trigger them, you might be clenching your teeth and not realise etc

Hi, I have been gf for about 5 years now and diagnosed lactose free around 15 months ago. I have suffered from migraine since I was very young and over the last year it has improved but I never thought to connect it with not eating dairy. Just recently I have been getting the aura back where my vision is impaired and getting palpitations again. I do have a.f. and take meds for it, so have arranged an appointment with my doctor for next monday. Would you flag the food issue? I have also taken Soya out of my diet as it seems to affect me, in fact anything shop bought to eat prepared such as biscuits or a cake is taking a risk, even when it states it is gf and lactose free.

quite often, Coeliacs or those intolerant of gluten are also intolerant of other foods, such as dairy, soy, corn, etc. Keep a food diary, but do remember that it can take longer than a day to have a reaction to something, though for me, it's usually pretty instantaneous if I get something that causes a migraine for me. Look for the common thread in your food diary. Sometimes it's an added ingredient in the food that causes it, like a preservative and not the food itself. :)

yes yes yes! all my issues seemed to VANISH as i took more things out. i can only have a few foods now and to most people it seems absurd but they dont get migranes on a constant, horrible periods, aching back and neck muscles, skin rashes, yeast infections, diahrea constipation, etc etc etc. when people have to live in constant pain and discomfort its worth starving to feel better, id eat only ice chips if it would cure my ailments! for me in addition to gluten and dairy i took out vinegars, alcohols, as much iodine as possible, YEAST, corn,. well ill just tell u what i can eat--- chicken meat fish rice fruits and veggies in juicable form and potatoes. it does suck and i cant eat socially but my health was so fucked up it had to come to this. in the meantime use a hard ball to press on the back of your neck. you can move it around and feel "knot spots". focus on those spots and as u press the pain should subside. it hurts but the headaches WILL go away!! good luck
