GF in Scarborough & York

Hi,

I'm going on holiday in a few weeks to Scarborough & planning on going to York for a day too. Does anyone have any good gf recommendations? Especially fish & chips if possible!!

Hi Alison,I know you are going to Scarborough but the best gluten free fish and Chips are in Whitby which isn't too far from Scarborough . The fish and chip restaurant is called the Magpie which is in the harbour. They cook the fish in GF batter ,in a separate fryer,they will bring you GF bread,vinegar and an assortment of sauces. They take the whole GF thing really seriously and all the staff are really well educated about it . I live in Leeds and as a treat we go 2-3 times a year and I have never felt worried about going or been ill after. Enjoy your hols. X

If your visiting york you MUST visit this place!! All food on the menu is gluten free so need to panic and plenty of choice - el-piano.com/ its really tasty food and they do an amazing chai latte Enjoy!!

In Scarborough (no chippies I'm afraid) Nomad Café, Solid Rock Café and Triccolos on Eastborough, Pizza Hut and Wetherspoons in shopping area. Some of the more expensive restaurants say they are able to do gf, one being Jeremys, Il Piatto near the Grand is Italian, Ask by the harbour. I go to the Quayside in Whitby for Fish n Chips and a gf beer, Trenchers also do gf but no gf beer.

What types of gluten free food do wetherspoons do? Anything "normal"? Burgers.... Fish n chips...??
