Hellmans mayonnaise.

I always check the labels on every processed food I buy, even if I have eaten them in the past without any 'backlash'. I was disconcerted to find that amongst all the various permutations of this mayonnaise (light, lightest, normal) that some listed mustard in the ingredients and some didn't but there wasn't any regularity according to which type. I hope no-one who finds they cannot tolerate mustard has not been caught out if they choose a buy this and think it is safe because they have eaten it before without issue.

English mustard has wheat flour in..that's the made up mustard in a jar..but you can use the tins of powdered English mustard....

Having reacted badly to some foods/meals I found the common denominator seemed to be mustard, mustard seeds or mustard flour and assumed as the symptoms were the same as being glutened that therefore mustard in any shape or form was the issue. Maybe not, maybe it's just me? Back to square one to try and work this one out on my own! Cancel that letter to the manufacturer. Hey ho!

you may have an allergy to mustard as well- it is one of the main set which is why it is listed in the allergen box. I keep adding to my list of foods to avoid, but once I get used to having a happy gut I like to keep it that way.

I react to anything with mustard flour in too so avoid it.

Thank you for restoring my sanity! I thought it was just me! As time goes on the list just grows, doesn't it? Ah well! I am all for a happier gut too! :)

Have you ever tried Sainsburys own brand mayo. It says suitable for Coeliacs and haven't had any reactions..and I'm super sensitive. I also mix some with powdered mustard..yummy
