Recovery time before I’m able to exercise after Preserflo Microshunt

I’m having a Preserflo Microshunt in my left eye ( the worst eye) in March. I am an avid daily walker, who does a 5km minimum. Does anybody know how long before I’ll be able to get back out and walk, (I don’t doodle).???

Also as part of recovery is it important to not bend down ?

i have a prep appt with surgeon next week so of course will ask him, however I’m interested in everybody’s own experiences.

It was 8 weeks before I was allowed to start running again.

Bending over wasn't allowed for the same period. Squatting to pick things up becomes second nature after a while.

How was your glaucoma when you were identified? Was you ever put on drops?

My pressures were 24 & 26 when diagnosed in 2011. No sight loss at that stage. They tried different drops over 11 years, first just one drug, then two, then three, in different combinations. Eventually they decided my field loss was still progressing with normal pressures (mid-teens) and not controllable with drops so they did the microshunt in worst eye first (still to do the other). They did try SLT before doing the microshunt but it had no effect.

It was, but last evening I started getting flashes when I looked left and right quickly. Also up and down. Also a floater. Detached retina was a concern so after talking with 111 ended up in A&E in the early hours of this morning. They didn't think it was detached retina but I've now been referred to eye hospital for appt this afternoon to investigate further...

The flashes and floaters were found to have been caused by posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) and nothing to worry about unduly.
