Posted for the first time over a month ago and recently had trab surgery on my left eye Tues 26th. Surgery was not the most pleasant of experiences but necessary and the pressure was down to 8 the next day from a high of 38 so good news so far. The consultant was happy with how my eye looked and I could even read the letters fairly low on a chart at the time. My vision is up and down at the moment but it is easier to see when it is darker if that makes sense and more difficult when its brighter. I am wondering what peoples experience is with regards to their vision post surgery as before the surgery I was having some difficulty seeing. I'm on Chloramphenical drops 4 times a day and Dexamethasone 1/2 hourly a day.

Hi Cendeck, well done for surviving the operation and achieving such a good result so far. I too have had this op and found that my vision fluctuated a bit during the recovery process. The advice I was given is that it takes 6-8 weeks for normal vision to be restored and as your eyes will keep changing, don’t order new glasses too soon. You should wait about 3 months before doing this.

Good luck with your recovery. It sounds as if you are in the right track,

Hi

I'm also in post surgery phase after trab. I've found that my eye seems more sensitive to light. Also noticed that the pupil is larger in the operated eye. I'm wearing wrap around sunglasses most days even if not obviously sunny and that seems to help.

All the best.
