I've never felt or looked masculine and felt more comfortable dressed as a girl/woman. I am wanting to take the next steps forward to becoming a female. But I am not sure how to find a doctor that will help me. Or what to tell them.

Hi Toni! I have a few recommendations for you 😊The website Transbucket is a great place to learn about avaliable surgeons if that's what you have in mind, and you can see their work and ask users about their experience.

Typically doctors will ask if you have socially transitioned yet, ("loved as a woman") and some may deny hormones or treatment if you have not

😕 so that's something to keep in mind. There are some other resources online to find trans friendly doctors, but which sites will help will mostly be reliant on your area.

As for what to say to the doctor, I suppose the main thing is to be honest about your experience. You should go into the appointment knowing what you want to do (what hormones, surgery, etc) and with a fair amount of knowledge about it. You don't have to learn every single thing about it (though if you're like me you may want to), but you should at least know enough that the doctor will feel like you know enough about it to be making an informed decision.

Best of luck to you!
