What does your oral thrush look like and your symptoms? How were you diagnosed with it? (Tests or just physical exam) My tongue is only white on top, sticky at times, feels dry, sometimes like sandpaper, burning feeling sometimes, and if I scrape it nothing comes off, it will just look rough. I dont have any other areas in my mouth effected. I am wondering what others have seen with their oral thrush. I've tried nystatin 2 rounds, fluconazole for 10 days and now I am on intraconazole.

Hi

I haven’t seen dr as lockdown, so not been officially diagnosed with oral thrush, but I’ve been taking tablets daily and it’s gradually going. I had white coated tongue, soreness in gum, and dry yukky mouth. When I scraped or brushed tongue I could remove the white coating. Think mine is as a result of taking antibiotics. I’m on fluconazole - done 5 days of 7 day course but may need couple more days. I tried daktarin gel at the start but it stung. Good luck

Ps I’m taking a good probiotic too

Hi! What dosage did the doctor recommend for you? I got Fluconazole 50mg for 1 week, did not not do anything, now increased to 200mg. This is the first day on the new dosage. I am also taking Nystan, which I really don't like, and I think it might even be making it worse. My tongue looks pretty similar to yours.

Hi I’m on 50 mg fluconazole- wow that is a big jump up to 200mg, you should feel some improvement on that dose. I can see that my tongue is clearing and gum less sore - but it’s so slow 😩

Btw that’s not my tongue above 🤣

I realized I commented in the wrong place, it was meant for the original post. Thanks for the info anyway.

Thank you, 6 months is to long. The deep cracks in my tongue is the worse. The white patches large bumps and sores got to go.

I did not have any of the side effects that you mentioned, but it did not work for me. I guess it's different for everyone.

Has anything worked for you yet?

Hi

I am on 50mg Fluconazol for 7 days have taken 2, have you had any side effects from the medication as I have been having quite a few, feel sick headache, a little dizzy and generally feel unwell, I understand these are side effects just wondered if anyone else was getting them.

Think I felt a bit drowsy but only first couple days. Nothing else. Have you tried taking with food? Maybe take at bedtime, so you don’t notice any side effects.

I took Fluconazole 150mg for 12 days for oral/esophageal thrush. also joint and muscle pain. Worked after about a week. I had to stop because my hands and feet started swelling and getting a rash. The symptoms returned shortly after stopping the medication.

White spots red spots with cracks all over the tongue and bumps and blisters on the back of the tongue.

Hi, I get oral thrush quite frequently especially if I'm using my inhalers for my chest problems, and I don't have a drink of water to hand, because I'm not at home or have access to a drink at the time, treatments:I find the oral gels not very effective, it usually is helped much better taking a course of tablets, for thrush, whether it be oral or down below, main culprits with myself are the asthma inhalers or antibiotics, I always make sure I take a drink and rinse my mouth out after using inhalers, more often than not I keep oral thrush from developing this way.

I would get your doctor to run a test to identify that there might be growing on your tongue, might not be a yeast.
