Hello

I have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis, My first nasal operation was to remove polyps they also found citrobacter and aspergillosis, two years later I had a second operation to remove a serious infection the consultant did not send samples off so I do not know what infection was found he also scraped my nose so severely the internal bone was exposed leaving me with even more severe headaches this was October 2018 since August 2019 I have been feeling quite unwell have had 3 different 2week courses of antibiotics the discharge from my nose has been horrendous thick green/black smelly like wet dog and now my eye socket is inflamed and feels bruised

Does anyone have similar or any advise ?

I’m not sure if I should be asking for anti fungal medication ?

Thank you for reading

Regards Sara

I had eight Aspergilloma Fungal Balls in my sinuses. I was given antifungal pills and had to do nasal irrigations several times a day. In addition, I nebulized Amphotericin-B. I was not well enough to have surgery so I did this process for eighteen months. All of the above, combined with moving out of a moldy house, resolved my fungal balls. You need to see a mold literate ENT. My doctor was based in Atlanta, GA USA, Dr. Donald Dennis. If you need surgery you need a mold literate doctor who will irrigate your sinuses with antifungals meds during the surgery. Best of luck.

I have had polyps since 1995, 4 surgeries. And many mini where the polyps are taken out in office. In 2017 I had several sinus infections. Too many courses of antibiotic caused fungal infection, difulcan worked partially. Almost 6 months of pain and no sleeping. End of 2018 got a real bad sinus infection. My surgeon was not available for two weeks. Top dr at Stanford in California, my wife took me to homeopath. I was not expecting much. One dose and in 12 hours I could actually feel my polyps shrinking. Second dose 3 days later. Polyps shrunk, fungus infection gone. In one week I was all well. After 3 months went to see my nose dr. He found one large polyp which he took out. It was blocking the maxillary sinus. Lot of fluid came out. All clear. No infection. No fungal infection, He was pretty surprised how everything has cleared up. My nose is all well. I can smell now. I didn’t know homeopath could help me with fungus and polyps... Grateful I listened to my wife and I tried. Only 2 doses.

Sinus infections can be pretty stubborn and require surgery - the aim is to allow your sinuses to drain freely, clean themselves and thus avoid the buildup of material that blocks and causes infection, including fungal infection.

If I were you I would tell my concerns to my ENT surgeon - but the benefits of the use of antifungal medication are as yet unclear - aspergillus.org.uk/content/...
