Systemic Candida

Hello everyone, I’m new in this group, and help is highly appreciated. I’ve been very ill for two and a half years, almost bed ridden and out of work because of some undiagnosed illness. I have many symptoms and getting worse. There is a more in-depth post on my timeline and my symptoms are on my page but I just wanted to ask here if anyone had or has found Candida was behind their illnesses and how to best get diagnosed and tested for it? I’m looking into ordering a test online and have no idea if a stool or a blood test would be most reliable.

You are highly unlikely to be suffering from systemic candidiasis as this is a serious infection that would need rapid treatment to resolve - certainly not something that would persist for years.

On looking at your list of symptoms I don't think this is a likely candidate for your illness but of course, your doctor is the best person to see to address concerns like this.

NOTE As a warning to be careful about interpreting what you read on the internet the following is taken from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candi...

Alternative medicine

A 2005 publication noted that "a large pseudoscientific cult"[69] has developed around the topic of Candida, with claims up to one in three people are affected by yeast-related illness, particularly a condition called "Candidiasis hypersensitivity".[70] Some practitioners of alternative medicine have promoted these purported conditions and sold dietary supplements as supposed cures; a number of them have been prosecuted.[71][72] In 1990, alternative health vendor Nature's Way signed an FTC consent agreement not to misrepresent in advertising any self-diagnostic test concerning yeast conditions or to make any unsubstantiated representation concerning any food or supplement's ability to control yeast conditions, with a fine of $30,000 payable to the National Institutes of Health for research in genuine candidiasis.[72]

I agree with this. GAtherton does the FTC have a similar agreement in UK are you aware? Or is there an international agreement please? As many of us are in the UK
