i/m new, aspergillus found on both lungs jan 2016, went to manchester centre yesterday, had a ct scan two weeks ago but queens hospital had not sent it yet, had a bloo,d test and left a sputum sample,does anyone know if the centre is good?

Manchester is excellent you are in the best place .when you say Queens hospital is that Glasgow? If so that is my neck of the woods so you could join our forum and we can chat etc.

I've only been once and am due to go again in two weeks time to find out the results of blood tests and hopefully, be put on a course of treatment. I was very impressed with the care and professionalism of the medical team - the physio I saw was truly excellent. It is the only centre in the UK that specialises in respiratory fungal infections so they do have a lot of knowledge. Like you, I'm hopeful they can help me manage my condition.

The Manchester Centre is the best but they need cooperation from local hospitals . Essential to try and get the info if ct scan to them I am having similar problem the ct Scanfrom my local hospital in Glasgow but will try and find a creative way to succeed re CT scan. Being sent in a readable form . Let me know if you get lucky.

You're at the best place in Europe - probably in the world I would say. I travel for 7 hours across country just to get there, worth every penny for the petrol and overnight hotel stay.

I always get a copy of any X-Ray, or scan put on a Cd for me at my local hospital. You supply the cd and they charge you for putting it on. I try and get them to copy every letter to me as well since I found that a letter written by a consultant 5 years ago was put on file but no one had actually read it and it suggested a change in medication! Now when I get a copy letter from a consultant and there is something like that or something I don't understand contained in it I make an appointment to see the GP to sort it out. Seems we cannot rely on the letters and scans to be sent and auctioned unlss we we watch things ourselves.
