Not feeling good

I finished with my chemo and radiation at end of April. I have never felt very good since then. I am always tired and nauseated. I am wondering if any of the rest of you have the same problem or is this just the new normal for me

I finished my Chemo/Radiation in Jul 2010. I never felt well, was always tired and nausiated. I was recently found to,have NAC. That’s a slow growing bacteria so I probably picked it up somewhere and had it the whole time. When our lungs don’t function well neither does our immune system. This may not be your problem but it’s worth checking out. We are supposed to feel good after our cancer is cured. I was so glad to be alive I just let it go.

Talk to your doctor about Marinol or Megace prescription to calm the nausea.

Other possibilities? A friend of mine had an endoscope because she has trouble eating more than a bite or two and is losing weight dangerously. They found that, post Chemo, an opportunistic bacteria was causing the pain and nausea eating brought on. She’s just started treatment so I can’t report on the outcome.

It took me 6 months to a year before I felt OK (closer to a year). It's been a little over a year since I finished radiation and I feel 'normal'. Hang in there. It will get better.

Please get your bloods tested to makesure it's not due to anaemia, or dehydration... as both of these can become deranged when you have had chemo...

Other than that for energy a rich green ( celery, Apple, spinach, kale and lemon) drink can help with energy.

Also a small handful of hazelnuts, can help with energy.

For sickness sounds like you need a anti sickness tablet, to help you eat or drink to give you energy...

I really hope you are sorted as soon as.

Wishing you the best.🤞🙏

It took me about a year after chemo and radiation to feel more normal. My doc gave me anti-nausea meds and that helped. Please talk to your doc and see what is out there to help you feel better. We all react differently

Hi, I have to agree with others. It took me close to year to gain back strength. However in my case I have had to stay on chemo with only a four month break. During the break I gained back strength and energy. I never got to the old me for cancer never went totally away but I'm alive and kicking. Hang in there. It does get better. Happy Holidays! Keep writing.
