Cataract surgery tomorrow

As I sit here I'm putting in eye drops in preparation for cataract surgery tomorrow. Though not thrilled to have any surgery, I'm looking forward to clearer vision. Wish me luck.

Thanks susiejo1948. Looking forward to a similar result. I started wearing glasses at 15. Wonder if I'll miss them. Will need reading glasses which is just fine.

Hope it goes well tomorrow. While you were doing your eye drops, I has getting my three month followup CT scan to see what might be going on with my little 5 mm nodule that surprised us when I had my six month CT after LLL lobectomy. Should have results by Friday.

I've been having trouble seeing in the dark when there is any glare. I joked with a friend today that I might have cataract surgery soon as long as the potential lung cancer treatment doesn't become an issue.

I was once a cop. Macabre humor was very much a part of the job. It might seem strange, but humor is comforting no matter what or where it is about.

Actually, I didn't schedule the cataract surgery until I got the ok from my oncologist because I didn't want to interfere with any cancer treatments. My tumor is 8 by 9 mm. Still too small to do anything about. Since some chemo treatments can accelerate cataracts, the ophthalmologist felt that this was a good time to have the surgery. Chemo will not affect the implants. It might be worth considering if your eyesight is causing you difficulty.

I agree about humor. It gets us through a lot.

Thanks for the encouragement.

In the Cancer world we call that tumor humor.

I had cataract surgery in the first year of my cancer battle. Mine was caused from having been in dexamethasone that u gad to take when I had my brain met. It was easy and totally successful, very happy with the results. Inky happened to my left eye. Wish in some ways it had been both, so I could see that well in my right eye too.

Best wishes, you'll di great. Enjoy the bee vision.

I had surgery on both eyes a month apart. Truly the worst part was remembering to put those darn drops in! Colors will be VIVID again and you will be glad you did it.
