Life and Breath Rally in Washington DC November 2

A group of lung cancer advocates recently got their backs up when our President declared the opiate crisis as a national emergency. We know it is a big, big problem - 91 Americans die every day from an opiate overdose - but 433 Americans die every day from lung cancer, almost five times as many. 433 a day: that's the entire House of Representatives, or a jumbo jet falling out of the sky every day, just here in the U.S.

We in this group know this in a very personal way.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and to start the month off with a big event, these advocates are organizing a rally on November 2 at 11 a.m, on the west lawn of the Capital Building. This is a completely grassroots effort, and all lung cancer advocacy groups and their supporters are welcome. The plan: to make some noise about the need for more research funding STAT, and to stage a die-in, making a very visual statement of what 433 deaths every day looks like.

I plan to be there, and so does Denzie. Please join us if you are able!

This is a free event with no fundraising. The organizers are asking people to register ahead of time so they have some idea of how many are coming. I have attached the registration link.

See you in D.C.!
