I'm sick of this crap

I'm off of Afitanibs now for three months. I still believe it's in the Lord's hands. I don't care for my doctor. All he cares about is hunting and his 1.6 million dollar house. He doesn't scare me although he tries. It's like the old adage dentists use...drill em, fill em, and bill em.

Are there other doctors in your area? Is there a research hospital reasonably near to you? You don't have to accept this man as your doctor - fire him, and find someone who is a better communicator.

I hope you find a new doctor you can work with. Trust is essential. It is your life on the line.

AtoyotA, fire your Dr. Take control and fight and advocate for yourself. I don't know where you live but the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is a wonderful place to go and everything is about the patient. Take a deep breath, clear your head and pray. Ask God to give you direction

I'm sorry you have such a crappy doctor. Surely you have other choices. Having confidence in your doctor and creating a team attitude to whip cancer is so important to our attitude. Please ask others about their docs and try to find a better fit. Good luck.

I agree with the others, this is unacceptable. For some tips on finding a doctor: freetobreathe.org/lung-canc...

Please advocate for yourself and get the care you deserve.

I wouldn't stick with the Doctor that you can't stand, I know it's frustrating to change him, but it's better to trust your doctor. You have to feel total confidence with him or her. I'm going through the the same thing with my oncologist, doc. moved to Scranton to WB, and now isn't working because of health issues, stock now getting a different one. We both had a good relationship, I trusted him, oh well , nothing I can do about it. Roll with the flow!

You need to find a new doc and team as soon as possible. The first docs I saw I refer to as the Death squad, It is important to stay positive through this horrible ordeal and if you don't like your doctors that will be impossible to achieve. My new oncologist is intelligent , caring and she gives me comfort, I hope you do this soon because the disease itself is hard enough to deal with but you need to have a good team behind you. I am praying for all that have to face this in their lives. God Bless

I've been on a cancer pill sabbatical for the past three months. I go back in for a CT Scan toward the end of the month and then another appt. for the results with "Dr. Death" (the oncologist). No matter the results of the CT, I will not go back on the Afitanib cancer pills. I'm relying on my faith and prayers. My regular doctor wanted me to come in and just "talk" to him about a week ago. (He feels guilty for never having given me a chest x-ray.) I always took such good care of myself!!! He did give me a cholestanol test and I was shocked and amazed that due to the Krill oils I take my cholesterol is down from 240 to 187. (It's not what I eat, it's hereditary.) I've made peace with my life and I still believe I will live to be 96. (So does my regular doctor.) God has a work for me to do on this earth and I ain't done yet!

I had a brilliant doctor, horrible bed side skills. I stayed with him for his knowledge not for him to be my friend. He left the hospital now with a new thoracic oncologist who is brilliant and kind and warm. Almost enjoyable to go to the doctors appointment. If unhappy be your own advocate. What state are you in?
