Brain fog! It seems that the fog just gets thicker to the point you’re re-reading the same page of a book over and over and over....

Hi all I’ve just written my bio which is more like my life story but it’s the first time I’ve told it willingly! This site sums me up to a T as I have most of named illnesses on this page but referring to brain fog—recently this has been getting worse for me I will sit with my family watching a box set we all watch together having to say as we start ‘what’s happened? I don’t remember this bit’ to be told with exasperated breath that we saw this episode only just yesterday and also that this is actually the third time you’re rewatching the same episode it’s become embarrassing so I’ve started to lie and try and figure the plot/storyline by trying hard to remember, but it’s like you are watching—staring right at the damn thing then something big happens and I turn to my partner as if I’d just walked in the room an say ‘what just happened there?’🙈

Anyway there’s just one symptom of the seemingly endless list😩

What thyroid medication are you on and how much ? Also have the following tested - B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD. They need to be optimal and not bumping along the bottom of the range - for you to feel well and for your thyroid hormones to work well.

Hi there thank you for your advice i hadn’t seen the first message till now sorry the Wi-fi here is shockingly bad, so sorry for late replies and appreciate your response thank you 🙏 I’m going to have bloods done this week and am very interested in the B12 I currently take Bvitamins strong compound but the B12 I understand is not part of the compound. I’m taking the list you referred to my drs so they will test for more instead of just thyroid and renal blood work.

B12 could well be contained in the B vitamin Compound you are taking. This could skew your B12 result - by showing it to be higher than it really is ! Only 20% of the B12 in the Serum is available to be transferred to the cells where it is needed.

The correct testing for the Thyroid is TSH - FT4 - FT3 and the Thyroid Anti-bodies TPO & Tg. Sadly the FT3 and Tg anti-body is rarely tested by the NHS - so only part of the story is revealed. The website below gives you all the information needed to treat the thyroid correctly and is on the NHS Choices website as an approved source of information - so should not be ignored by your GP !

The above link takes you to all the info you will need to know about B12 - scroll down for the neurological signs and go to Films on the Menu and watch the videos to understand how serious B12 Deficiency is .,...

Thank you my lovely I’ve missed two drs appointments in the last week or so it’s such a struggle atm just getting ready to leave the house and such an ordeal 🙈 so have to rebook my appointments which I know is going to be ages and then of course I have to phone and speak to someone to do this- I get so flustered on the phone I end up in tears😩 that and I have to fill out a load of forms to prove to the governing body that I am indeed unwell enough to work let alone we’ll enough to even get myself washed and dressed and then of course there’s the medical which sets me back months as it’s so so traumatic even tho every time I’ve had one in my life they have said I should never have been made to come here and you will not have to have a medical ever again but then they just change the name or something slightly in the governing body that provide benefits and then get told ‘but that medical was then and this one is now’ even tho I have been told several times that the process is detrimental to my health but then of course this is new, if it wasn’t for my two children I would have given up years ago as I’m such a burden! Sorry for the rant it just came out🙈and thank you again for your response🙏
