Hi everyone!

You may recall me posting a blog several weeks back, regarding advice about me being in two minds about taking my job offer with Greater Manchester Fire Service for a support services role.

I was worried about leaving my wife Kim alone with her FND symptoms, as my proposed job was far out.

We've had many issues with our neighbours, as we live in a maisonette block of flats, on second floor.

I'm fighting to get Kim rehoused into a Bungalow, but age restrictions are one of our main obstacles.

Unfortunately, the past week has seen a certain neighbour below us causing violent and aggressive behaviour, such as trying to kick our front door in and our neighbours door too.

Thank God she warned us before we were due to come in as it would have caused Kim to possibly go into a non epileptic seizure and I would possibly have killed this guy, although I'm a reserved and respectful individual.

It's a very scary situation and I'm going to have to get Kim rehoused ASAP and I'm now getting social services involved.

The Police are involved too but I'm not taking it to court as we fear retaliation.

The situation is unpredictable as the tenant is still living here.

Anyway, today I've cancelled my job offer and explained to the service what's going on.

I love the service but my wife and her safety come first and I've taken emergency annual leave this week from my present job.

We would like to thank you all for your very kind advice since my blog and you were all very helpful.

We just pray we get out of here before anything really bad happens as we know this neighbour is on drink, possibly drugs too.

I can look after myself but if I did anything in self defense, which I will, as the Police have informed me its self protection, I'm scared if I have to go to court, as I've never been in trouble.

Time will tell.

Best Wishes to you all and thank you.

Tony and Kim xx

Hi there sorry for your situation gosh leejunfan I spent yrs working within the legal system after coming out of the forces if anybody attempts to kick down your door or enter your property or if you feel even under threat you can defend if anyone enters your property you can use any household item to defend yourself ie rolling pin yes crikit bat no, baseball bat no but heavy pan or kitchen implement yes also there is the best efforts act this covers you in court defending the safety of your love one and the good samaritans act taking someone down and injuring them is reducing the risk of them hurting someone else you or them self's I am so sorry about your situation s angry for you both I realy am I just hope my advice helps thanks mat and big love and respect to you both
