Facial spasms

Hi all, this may sound weird but of late I have been taking facial spasms all over my face. I’m wondering if other people get this as it’s new for me. I do have NEADS along with a whole lot of other symptoms of FND. I have also noticed that I’m getting a headache that is like a pressure that is going to explode through the top of my head. I don’t know if they are connected with the face spasms, I’m hoping someone can shed light on this for me.

I have facial spasms too, though mine doesn't cause the type of headache you described. I also have a lot of jerking episodes and tremors. Maybe the facial tics just come along with these types of movement disorders?

Do you find you have stronger facial tremors just before or after a NEAD attack? Just wondering because I get them when im exhausted or if I have had or about to have an attack. I classify facial ticking as a red flag and instantly take my emergency meds and go to bed

Hi all, thanks for the replies. I have been taking these facial spasms on there own along with the headaches. Claireeve you described it right, it's just like my face is having a seizure. I also have fibromyalgia so I'm wondering if there's a link there. I also take full body seizures and my face gets affected then too but these have been different. I took another yesterday with the same headache only this time I got prolonged electric shocks in my head, again I usually get these all over my body but they are random quick shocks like a pin pricks but weird to only get them in my head and a bit more severe. Chris I too take them when exhausted but also with no rhyme or reason. Thanks again for the replies, it's great to know we have each other for support 💕

Evening,

Yes I have facial spasms also. They affect around my eyes which causes the eyebrow and eyelid to close on my right eye. The actual eyeball itself hurts to touch (and I've had episodes of sight loss out of it) and yes this can also cause a headache of varying degrees. It affects my lower jaw so it looks as though I'm the Northwest gurning champion. It also affects my neck and tongue, where the neck tightens at the from and the tongue twists and turns in my mouth. The last episode of that felt as though I was starting to choke on it. Luckily and in a brief moment, my wife managed to get a diazepam tablet in which helped enough to not call an ambulance. All in all a frightening experience.

Dave.
