Hi! Welcome!

Have you checked out fndhope.org and neurosymptoms.org yet? These two sites give really comprehensive information about this disorder. If you are on Facebook, consider joining one of FND Hope's Facebook groups. There are several, and they are quite supportive.

I take Physiotens (3 x 200mg) plus Clonidine (2 x 50 mcg) every day, alternating them around the clock, roughly ever 4.5 - 5.5 hours..to calm my overactive Sympathetic Nervous System...Flight, Fight, Freeze mechanism in overdrive, 24/7 causing anxiety and high blood pressure and rapid pulse.

I also take a myriad of other medications for a variety of other medical reasons, including Vitamin B12, Folic Acid and Vitamin B tablets. Apparently B12 and multi Bs are normally in the low range of normal for people with FND and supplementing them has been found by numerous people to be a huge help.

I also have an extreme Magnesium deficiency and take from 3 to 8 huge tablets per day, or their equivalent in Magnesium oils, creams and/or Epsom Salts baths. Most of the western world has at least a mild deficiency due to soil depletion. Magnesium and Vitamin B12 are food for muscles and nerves and even mild deficiencies in these can play real havoc with your nervous system.

My sugar levels are higher than they should be, but that's a diet thing and an 'almost diabetes type 2' diagnosis. Dr is keeping an eye on it.

Gluten can cause havoc with the brain. Lots of FND Sufferers have reported being significantly better on a strict gluten free diet. Strict as in reading labels, and the tiniest amounts such as sugar from wheat or maltodextrin from wheat on frozen chips from our supermarkets in Australia can cause me 3 days of significant physical/nerve distress.
