Bloating
Hi....I've battled with IBS for many years and following endoscopy and gastroscopy I was diagnosed with a lazy stomach. Dietary controls and careful eating seemed to keep things under control with minimal 'episodes' of wind, bloating and diarrhea. Fast forward a few years and following a prolonged course

L Glutamine
Hi everyone, could anyone advice me on L Glutamine, I have Intestinal Metaplasia and I don't know if I should take it. I have read it supports the stomach lining but I am concerned that this would only help a 'normal stomach' and I may do more harm than good. Thanks

Are Functional Motor Symptoms Influenced by Glutamate and Glutamine Fluctuations?
I was reading an old post and someone commented about this, so naturally I asked the question and found this study: https://www.neurologylive.com/view/functional-motor-symptoms-influenced-glutamate-glutamine-fluctuations Interesting reading and saying that the "functional movements" are down to biology

Hello all So after years of a tummy that reacted to certain foods, being diagnosed as gluten intolerant in 2016, really suffering in 2021 and 2022, following a FODMAP diet recommended by my doctor (don’t recommend) and getting to a point where I only ate the same plain things everyday, I finally paid

Final STAMPEDE results for Abi with/out Enza when starting ADT.
In terms of AR inhibition, Enzalutamide [Enza] was more effective than any of the "lutamides" that began with
Flutamide
[1989]. One could hardly therefore expect much incremental benefit in combining Abi & Enza.

More on abiraterone prices
I know that there have been many posts on this subject. But because this affects many of us, I hope you can indulge me one more post. My basic question is: Have some of you stopped buying abiraterone (generic Zytiga) through your Medicare Part D insurance provider and started buying abiraterone through

Targeting Glutamine Metabolism
New paper below [1a]. Full text: [1b]. First, a few notes. "Studies have indicated the importance of glutamine in certain tumors. For example, the inhibition of glutamine metabolism was reported to prevent growth of several tumors such as breast, liver, kidney and T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia." Wiki

Dubious ADT treatment
Anyway, he was taking
flutamide
for almost exactly a year with 0.01 or a bit lower PSA and finally changed his doctor who said there's no reason to continue taking ADT and it shouldn't be done until at least 0.2 and the old guy decided to just treat PSA itself for no reason.

Up's and down's with anxiety issues and trying to find a better way
Hello. Anxiety issues are rearing their heads again lately. I stopped going to the gym almost a year ago now because of covid fear, but am really thinking about going back because I think it has always helped me with stress issues and I really liked being somewhat fit for my age. My daughter though

Fungus used in Chinese medicine improves sleep in rodents (and also impacts glutamine/glutamate)
This isn't an easy read but, if the results can be relied on, looks promising https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8837518/ Abstract Ganoderma resinaceum is a valuable Chinese medicine. This study aimed to investigate whether a G. resinaceum alcohol extract (GRAE) improves sleep, and analyze

Androgen receptor mutations for precision medicine in prostate cancer - Endocrine-Related Cancer, Review Article, Published: 17 Aug 2022
Interestingly, it compares/contrast the actions (both as agonistic and antagonistic) of the ADT drugs (Bicalutamid,
Flutamide
, Enzalutamide, Apalutamide, Darolutamide, & Hydrocortisone) on the AR, as well as mutations that cause them to lose their effectiveness.
