Stabbing pain

Hello, I’m new to the group. I’m trying to understand the pain I’m experiencing and to see if anyone else experiences the same type. I have ET and possible MF (my fibers are low and do not score at this time). I have numerous other health conditions and trying to figure what pain goes with what? The worst pain I get is like an ice pick being stabbed randomly in my legs or arms. I also have dull aching in my wrist knees and fingers that can increase into intense pain. When the pain is at its worst it can take my breath away and bring me to tears. I’ve lived with pain for years but it’s getting worse and more often. I also have fibromyalgia so I don’t know what causes what. Any input from anyone who can relate would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to figure me out. Thank you

I feel your pain.its so bad ,just like you describe in thighs and upper arms, hips, shoulders.Takes my breath away also. Now recently added to my rediclous list is polycythemia..Waiting for my first Georgia Cancer Specialist appt. And it seems like forever. So frustrating and I'm just completely wiped from all this. Glad I saw your post though.🌺

Hi I just joined this group as I am newly diagnosed ET/JAK2 several months ago. Before I was diagnosed I had shooting, stabbing pains in the front of my legs--sometimes from the hip/thigh all the way down to the foot and sometimes just the thigh and hip. I also had a dull ache on my left arm. Couldn't sleep at night more than 1-2 hours. Now months later after them checking brain and heart I am diagnosed with ET (they are also checking for Myelofibrosis) however; the pain has subsided. I don't know if this is normal and will come back or if it could be because I'm taking CBD oil for chronic back pain which is helping. I hope your

pain has subsided also and would appreciate any information you have learned about this type of pain. I don't think everyone with ET experiences. I also have

had some chest/heart pains.

Yes, StillaBuckeye, even though I don't get really bad stabbing pains in my legs, I can relate to what you are saying. I also have osteoarthritis now in addition to FM and when my haematologist asked me last time how my symptoms were, I didn't know what to say. How can we know what is a symptom of what!

Hi, I have ET and one doctor says PV. I have had joint pain for years and many times it feels like a stabbing pain and wrist pain. I have had both knees replaced. They tell me it is all related to arthritis. But when I first got diagnosed I had lots of hand pain that would go to my whole arm. Took years for anyone to figure out what some of my problems were. Once I got diagnosed with ET. I learned it was from the thick blood and started on 81 mg aspirin much of my hand and arm pain went away. Now I think what I have is mostly arthritis. Some bone pain in the long bones like the shins can be from and MPN. Your doctor should confirm much of what you feel. Unfortunately the hematologist do not recommend and nsaids which is also all the arthritis meds . I don't know if this helps at all. There are groups you can join on facebook for ET or PV. There is such a variety of people with symptoms most of us have and can answer a lot of question
