upping meds or new stronger pain killers,

tramadol 400mg a day

amitriptyline 150 mg

im finding that these pills are not dulling pain as they used to? what do you think is stronger than these and work

I often wonder if our bodies adapt to the medication so it reduces it's effectiveness, so I would be interested in what others think.

As well as adapting it also can cause other problems... I had been taking co dyramol as needed for years and it worked fine then one day out of the blue I needed some .. Took 2 absolutely no pain relief and a pounding headache.... That was a bitter blow as they were great for acute pain .... But have never been able to take them again

So Bella I would see your GP and see what he suggests ... There are loads to choose from so it maybe time to change or update ....

Could ask GP to up Pregabalin to 300mg twice a day (that is max dose). I found that helped a little. I'm also on Fentanyl patches (similar to Morphine only stronger) they come in several different doses, so again, ask GP.

Pain clinic are very good at suggesting medication - they told me to take paracetamol 4 times a day religiously as it makes the other meds work better.
