Been to GPs

Went to see my GP today to get some tramadol, they seem to working with no side effects so far :) I also asked him about fibro and could I have it, he seems quite knowledgeable of it and said it's possible but he want to eliminate everything else first, he said they will know more after my neuro tests.

I never had any of the rule out tests :( I'm feeling left out. I joke.

Tramadol are great, I take 8 a day, my friends wonder how because they knock them out. I'm hard core, lol.

Hope it all goes well

i think your dr is spot on i had all the tests including bone scans ct scans and as i said previously not only did i have fibro i had MS which was a shock to everyone . I got a bit of stick for saying my GP feels its such a complex condition it should be dealt with by professionals dealing in neuro rhumy etc. But as he said you can may know an excellent baker who knows and bakes all sorts of bread and cakes but you ask a specialist to do a wedding cake as its a specialist thing. I use tramadol (200 mg x4 daily) too doesnt work for everyone but i find them great BUT we are all different and what suits some doesnt suit others. Good luck with the tests x

Hi there glad you got such a positive reaction from your Gp and glad he is ruling out everything else seems like you have found a good Gp there

He's new at the surgery and young :) got more help and info out of him in one visit than 3 years of seeing 2/3 of the older GPs, he always greets me with a handshake and warm welcome, puts me at ease and drops the stress levels :)

Glad to hear they are doing other rule out tests. I have had myofascial pain for 5 years, fibro for 2. It wasn't til saw rheumy in Nov, they diagnosed fibro and also did rule out tests. Am now being tested for lupus or Hughes as have sticky blood and other indicators; another autoimmune issue and 3 other diagnoses, in addition to having my scans discussed in MDT meeting as have disc probs in a dodgy area. Whilst I am fed up of waiting, am glad it's picked the others up as lupus/Hughes has similar symptoms to fibro. Communication between Hosp and GP horrendous for results. Now waiting on 3 other referrals.

Hope yours doesn't show up anything like mine but am so glad I had the other tests.

Glad you got pain relief but like Wendy said take it with paracetamol as it increases the pain relief if taken together. Pain clinic told me that.

Good luck with it all.

Jo
