How many conditions will i end up with

Hi Guys, just want to vent a bit. In 2012 i was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis, and then Fibro.

Bursitis in my hip and i also have aides pupil and early stage COPD. I am on a zillion tablets at the min.

I went doctor s over a week ago with my knees as my right knee was extremely painfull and keeps giving way they sent me to the hospital for an x ray they said it is probably the arthritis. the results should be back today.

When i saw the opticion last september she though i had a problem with my visual field so my doctor refered me to Hospital. Went yesterday clinic running 1 and a half hours late and my appointment was 9.20. saw the consultant who said that the fields seem ok and maybe it is a test i just dont get on with. the nurse had gone through my notes and mentioned about my cataracts i did not know i had them and neither the optician or doctor had told me so this made me angry. consultant checked my eyes and yes i do have them in both eyes and apparantly my left eye is worse so i am now waiting for an appointment to have them removed - i am only 54 !!!.

Also, yesterday i had an appointment for a mamogram never had one before and i felt it very uncomfortable. I am now scared of the results coming back as the way my luck is going there will be something wrong with them.

Really down at the min as i keep thinking well is the my life now .

I also have had to give up work due to my illnesses.

thanks for reading.

WOW that is quite a collection of illnesses you have , i have heard of people collecting antiques etc but i don't remember starting my illness connection hmmm

i have had hip bursitis , have you tried steroid injections ? they worked really well for me

i too have arthritis but mine is an inflammatory type but the pain sometimes is grrrrrrr

It is disgusting the way medics sometimes don't inform us about things haooening

i had major surgery twice then a small op and when i went to final out patient appt the Consultant said " there you are , you're ready for a hip replacement now " looked at the shock on my face " oh didn't i tell you that " If he wasn't such a lovely man i would have told him but i was good

i have varifocals and manage really well , i can hardly see anything without them , but i am 57

I will keep my fingers crossed re mammo, i too found it uncomfortable , i think its where it scrapes past the ribs , which in my case are always sore

Whoops Grangirls have arrived so i must gtake care , warm hugs xx

thanks for that VG i already have varifocals had them about 5 years now. Have you had the biopsy done ? my neck is constantly in pain along with shoulders back hip knee and foot - all this has come about since february 2012 so a lot to take in as it is such a short time. i have attended pain management, an 8 week fibro management course at the hospital, had injection at hip for the bursitis but didnt work why oh why do we get all these things wrong. i have walking sticks albeit i generally only use the one. this past week i have been in lots of pain and i think the cold isnt helping my arthritis and fibro. i also have hand splints and gloves. just would love a normal day which is pain free mind you i dont know what normal is any more.

Yep the biopsy ....they had me on a table gave me local anaesthic then took five samples which sounded like a nail gun ... Was little sore for a day or so but not so bad .. And got the all clear which was a relief a week later, but they did say on the day they thought everything was ok after a quick peek under microscope before I left

I do have a family history of breast cancer my mum is the first in her family not to have it so fingers crossed

Oh dear BB

Poor you your having a right 'auld' time of it are'nt you, not a bit of wonder you need to vent and sure theres no better place to do that than on here where your among friends who understand this horrible illness and the impact it can have on both the body and the spirit.

Sounds like you could do with a wee (((((hug))))) so im sending you one all the way from belfast along with this beautiful verse which has given me comfort at times in my life when I felt alone, isolated and just wanted to give up. Take care of yourself :-) dixie x

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed

he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.

For each scene he noticed two sets of

footprints in the sand: one belonging

to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,

he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of

his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very

lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he

questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow

you, you'd walk with me all the way.

But I have noticed that during the most

troublesome times in my life,

there is only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why when

I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,

I love you and I would never leave you.

During your times of trial and suffering,

when you see only one set of footprints,

it was then I carried you

Thanks for that Sheila.

My dad is 85 and i am his carer he lives 6 miles from me my mum died 3 and a half years ago.

I do have one brother but do not see him that much he visits dad daily however i know he is at the end of the phone if i need him. the thing that has amazed me most is I have never had a lot of friends but in the last 10 months since my first diagnosis most of them have not bothered or even helped so they were not friends anyway. my next door neighbour and her husband are a godsend and i dont know what i would do without them

It can feel as if you're falling apart sometimes can't it? I take so many meds I rattle ;) If you do get a recall following your mammogram please don't automatically fear the worst. I went into a flat spin panic when they recalled me only to be told it's quite common after the first one as they've nothing to compare it to so don't know what's normal for you. After a bit of prodding that wasn't a great deal less uncomfortable than the original x-rays I got the all clear x

bbstport in reply to mistymeana

mistymeana,

thank you and i know worrying wont help me but i cant stop worrying. Till i get the letter about the mamogram i will worry and also till i get the appointment for the first catoract as i need them both doing then i will probably worry more.

thanks

Fibromyalgia has so many nasty friends! I could give you my list and you would think I am a walking medical encyclopaedia!!! The trouble is that when one flares up they all decide to have a competition and they all flare. And when you get something that worries you, such as the risk of losing your sight or a cancer scare, of course that sets everything off too, as I too know from experience. So just think you are among friends here, and we all understand and we are all sending you our support over the cyberspace. x

thanks Judith, I have only been in the group for a few months and i think it is great. I sware that everything in my body ls having a competition to see which one can cause most pain and worry me most.

thanks for your support

Belinda x

Hello there BB, poor you, it sounds you are being put through the mill at the moment.

Take tiny steps one at a time, don't look too far ahead. There is no reason why the mammogram won't be ok, we tend to think the worst when things are hard for us. I had one last year after finding a lump, I had prepared myself for the worst and it was fine.

Just because we have Fibro, it doesn't mean we will be saddled with many other things, it's really luck of the draw. Unfortunately some people even without Fibro get more than others.

Please know that we are here for you, we do understand that sometimes it can all feel too much. We are here to help and support you as much as we possibly can along the way.

If you are concerned about the amount of meds you are having to take, discuss this with your GP to see if anything can be changed in your interest.

Take care my dear.
