for the past week it feels like i have hardly slept. i am having lots of odd dreams and the wacked in the day. is this typical. i do take amitryp

Since I have been on amitryp I have very vivid, very weird dreams. I think the reason I wake up knackered is because I am so busy in my dreams

I was on them years ago n they did the same to me.I couldn't tolerate them so stopped taking them,but reading a lot of posts a lot of people get benefit from them.Maybe i didn't give them a chance to gt into my system.So good luck n i hope ur dreams settle down. fee

I started amatryptaline yesterday took it at 8pm as advised only 10ng went to bed at 10pm took night meds, picked up my book, next thing I know it's 7am I hope they do more for pain than sleep to be honest as my night meds make me sleep ok it's day relief I want so will carry on with them and see what happens.

I take amitryp 50mgs per night before bed,i think it may be the topping for pills in the day,i sleep like a log,for how long don't know,when i was first on 25 amtryp think my body got used to them,i think they are doing the job ,at the moment i feel rather well,don't know about later on, might have to higher dose again hope not.jacksiex.

I have been on Amitriptyline for about 3 mths now, They do make me sleep better but I also a some very weird dreams, but when my doctor tried to double my dose it made me feel really weired during the day and unable to concentrate while I was at work x x

Yes I am on amitriptyline and I have the most vivid and complicated dreams, no wonder I wake up more tired than when I wnt to sleep.............x

so is it the drug or the fibro as i ve been taking it a while now and dont normally has such odd dreams-not prior to my fibro diagnosis

I take 30mg one hour before bed, If I go bed at 10 and read till 11 I only sleep undisturbed till 3 ish then its off and on till the morning. upped the amytrip to 30 a few weeks ago and still wake up at the same time 3ish ( usually with really bad pains in my hands and neck) dont have vivid dreams I seem to either totally zonk out for 4 to 5 hours and then its off and on for the rest of the night. Buy the time I need to be thinking of getting up I could snooze for a few hours it seems.

It appears we all do different things on different doses.

Hope you get your meds sorted. thinking back when I first started amytrip I did have some funny dreams now on 30mg I just seem zonked out
