Does any1 no if i can get help with child care? I have a 2yr old and its really not fair on him

I cant take him out like i used to he goes to 2 playgroups a week that i find a struggle. I dont want him to miss out

Your health visitor would be your best to ask honey they can help more then you think or maybe depending on your finances a childminder who could take him thier and bring him home again. other than that i don't know.

If your up to it you could have a mums and tots gathering at your home depends if the other mums understand your illness but i would definatly speak to you HV xxxx

Thanks im off work now have been for 9 weeks my partner has given work up to look after me.so cant afford childminder now. i have tried to get help from DLA just waiting now xx

IN OUR COUNTY THERE USED TO BE FAMILY SUPPORT WORKERS WHO would help not sure if they still exist with all the cuts tho, another route may be social services who could put you in contact with someone who could help x

You will need to ring social services and ask for an adult community care assesment and tell them its urgent...there can be up to six weeks wait for this service however I would have thought there would be help to get your child to groups or funds to allow you to pay someone to help get you there....all the best

Your partner may also be able to access help as a carer - he should get a separate assessment from Social Services for example. He may also be eligible for Carers Allowance; gov.uk/carers-allowance

Im already with home start have been for a year and they cant do much more as they have had there funding cut its so unfair ill check other things tho thank you xx

Hi, I understand how you are feeling. I was diagnosed with FM when my daughter was 9 months old and my son was 3. My son also has special needs. I tried everywhere to get help with the kids but unfortunlately there was nothing available. My husband had to go and get a job (he was medically retired and I was the main wage earner). I was on my own with two kids. My health visitor got my son into a nursery, it wasn't his pre-school year do we had to pay (look into this and some children can start at the age of 2 and 10 months depending on their birthday). You are lucky to have a full timer carer I would love my husband to be able to leave work but unfortunlately we had just moved to a bigger house when I took sick. Your husband can help with your child and it does get easier as they get older and more independent and they start nursery/pre-school/school. I think once you get your pain meds sorted things will be a bit easier. I feel that I am lucky to have young children who are dependant on me for part of the day as they give me a reason to get up and to keep going on the bad days xxx
