I only take night meds an anti depressant and muscle relaxant , I am allergic to so many day meds... It's a pain literally ..... Naproxen is one I am not allowed to take,, that and diclofenic and ibruprofen make my stomach bleed.... Not much I can take so I really rely on my night meds.

Hi there

I take 50 mg amitripyline at mite helps with sleep and nerve pain and baclofen 3 x day 10 mg this has been a fantastic muscle relaxant, my spasms are really bad but this worked , 30 mg duloxetine in morning thus helps sleep and pain, and 200mg of Celebrex for joint pain. Every one is different but this combination has helped me take some control if fibro, oh and I also go to chiropractor every 2 weeks and a specialist massage and heat rubs and very hot shower. Hope this helps take care Michelle

Naproxin was one of my first meds , I took it for 4 years and then had to change due to it giving me an stomach ulcer that I still have treatment for today 25 years later . So if it not working anymore there is always another one to try , I actually cannot remeber half the meds have been on and today am going for a infusion of Toxinimib ,my 4th one of this type and hope this one works . as I also have RA . Tell your doctor or Rhumy and am sure they will put you something else . As with pain meds your body gets used to them I have worked my up from paracetamol to morphine with all types inbetween . taken 40 odd years . But have good days and bad . like we all do .So speak to doc and push for new med that he /she thinks will be best ... it seems to trial and error in all these things these days .. good luck .

I was on Naproxen last year but it upset my tum too much, I have had a ulcer in the past. Im now on co-codomel 30/500 2 x 4 a day premarin for my hot flushes amitript 30mg nightly and I was on Gabapentin for 2 years but my weight ballooned so I weaned myself off them, miss them though because they helped my nerve pain. Im also on solifecin for bladder and Duloxtine has just been doubled to 120mg per day 2x60mg, Feel so tired though they make you drowsy and Im just getting over a bad few days.

I take 70mg of Amitriptyline around 7pm at night which is a good muscle relaxant and I take Gabapentin, 600mg in the morning, 600mg at lunch time and 600mg at dinner time. I have also been taking 10mg morphine tablets but I am now moving to tramadol as I had no relief from the morphine plus my GP said it was not good long term since I'm only 23!

Hope this helps, good luck!

I started on Hydroxychloroquinine with Diclofenac and Co-codamol, then went on to Ibuprofen 600mg, then Naproxen and Dosulepin and Tramadol, then Amitriptyline starting at 25mgs going up to 100mgs. I was also on Morphine for a while but it didn't work well for me. (I haven't got a good memory, I had written it all down in a notebook so I didn't forget!)

I decided I didn't think Amitriptyline was doing me any good as I really didn't feel well on it, it wasn't helping me sleep as was the point of the exercise and I put on two stone in weight since starting it. I went to see my GP about this and decided to stop taking it. I haven't taken it for two months now and I can honestly say I don't feel any worse for it, some days I even think I feel a bit better.

Nowadays I take Co-codamol when I feel my pains escalating. If the pain becomes unbearable I have my emergency (not really emergency, but taken when in desperation) Methocarbamol tablets. I take two 750mg tablets and within one hour my pain is bearable again. Some days I don't take anything at all, which is amazing considering a year ago I was taking dozens of tablets every day.

I always have a certain level of pain 24/7, it never ever goes away but when it rockets then I need to take something. I have tried "riding it" and it brings on other symptoms and the pain spreads rapidly so it just isn't worth it. :)

Hope this is of some help to you, happy to help any time! :) xx

Hi, I was on Naproxen for a while, but found it ineffective. I'm now on Meloxicam 15mg. I also take 60mg Amitriptyline, 60mg Codeine 4 times a day, Fluoxetine 60mg in the morning and Lansaprozale for other health issues relating to tummy and acid reflux. That drug enables me to be able to take all these nasty ones without ill effect. x
