had a massive row with my 16yr old daughter last night, she just talks to me like i'm a piece of s""t!
So the outcome is, I am in so much pain today, even though i am on tramadol and co-codemol, its not touching it at all!!!!

Teenagers are a marvellous breed aren't they? They know all the right buttons to press to get you going.
My 18 year old sometimes talks to me like I'm a naughty child ... I know it is just her way of coping with a poorly Mum so don't take it personally. She started off like that with me last night until she saw the blood dripping out my foot where I'd trod on a piece of glass ... then she was utterly amazing with getting some first aid stuff, cleaning me up, getting a dressing on my foot etc.
Don't take it personally Sharon, try your best to avoid rising to the bait; being a teenager is a pretty traumatic time - has she got her exam results coming this week? It is a stressful time for even the most chillaxed 16 year old.

hi and dont worry it will blow over i had 2 girls who have both been that age and they thought they knew the lot turns out they didnt and they know that now but at the time no they knew more than me i had never been a teenager never done anyhing and didnt know anyhing but now they can see whty i used t sa the things i did and do the things i did to protect and help them and it took them 3 years to realise that but they did and we have all been there where all your emotions are fighting against each other and we think we can conquer the world ittook my eldest to leave home and move into her first home with her partner and have my first grandson to realise quite alot of things and she has often sid mumit all makes sense now why you did and said things so try not to worry too much these things hapen ans they all blow over i found it best to keep quiet and let them rant and rave and jst dont retaliate and that way when it blows over all they can think is well actually mum didnt really go off on one she just let me rant and sttod ther
you take care and let it take its course and try to remeber when you were there ge i think we all forget that we were like that once and so do the kids lol love diddle xx
I sympathise. My daughter was the same at 16, knew everything, could do everything better than anyone else, and was an absolute pain in the rear end!
She's now 25, married and with a 5 year old. She said to me the other day 'I now know what you put up with, Mum, I heard myself saying to my son the exact thing you used to say to me!'
I said, ' Welcome to being grown up!'

we have this saying in our house "Oh to be 16, and know everything"!!!!!!
hi thanks to both of you for your kind words, my partner always says don't rise to it, but when i'm in pain and exhausted its hard to do. I remember the first time she did it, i looked up at the sky to my mum and said "Im soooooo sorry for what i put you through!!!"
