Hi Pauline, it will be interesting how you are with Lyrica (pregabalin) as this is the similar drug to Gabapentin but newer!!

Hi Lally. at least he admits the pain wont get better. All I ever get told is a positive mind, exercise and pacing and i should be ale to live a reasonably normal life. I had such high hopes of this 18mths ago.

I was crying in pain when i went to the shop earlier, one leg is constantly burning and feel like lead and the other feels like jelly and it is like this everytime i walk outside the house now.

I hate the idea, but crutches are so difficult to use for me so i am going to buy a couple of walking sticks next dla payday. I have to accept the pain is here to stay and i have to use sticks to walk.

But i do hope you get some relief, my cousin is on morphine a lot but she still seems to be in pain.

xx

Hi Lally Im glad the doctor listened to you and is at least he is doing something. I was swopped from Gabapetin to Lyrica (pregablin) and it did make a bit of difference the only draw back is my appetite went up and so did my weight! But I think the benfits make it worth taking. Lets hope the physio and accupuncture give you some relief. Anyway you take care Sue xx

Hi Lally if you go on to morphine dont worry, ive been on it since january and really helps when it is really bad, ive just come off pregablin and come on to tramodol which i feel is a lot better. Good luck Paula x

Hi kialaya. Was just wondering if you have used walking sticks before as I used for a while and because u always have to hold them I found the pain in my hands got worse,of course if you don't suffer from hand pain it probably won't b a problem for you, the ones shaped for left & right hand are the most comfortable to use, but I did have to go back to crutches rather 1 as since my shoulder operation & problems since I can only use one.

I hope Lally your change of medication helps I have been on Morphine about 2 years and as your Dr says won't miraculously get rid of pain but is the most effective pain relief I have had so far though just the MST 12 hour slow release tablets were not the answer Oramorph for break through pain makes a huge difference.

Hope your new treatment regime helps
