Wow Si! That video blew me away, incredible stuff! I was absolutely hooked within a few minutes! Have copied the link to watch again some time. She is one inspirational lady and what she said made absolute sense. I am not remotely mathematical, but my goodness it's food for thought isn't it.

Thank you so much for posting the link, loved it! :) :)

(Love the way Diddle thinks you're the new boy on the street lol!)

The idea is to find something that relieves a symptom and do it, or identify something that causes a flare up and not do it and everytime you do get a boost from your power up ;)

Hi Simon

Sorry to be the party pooper and I admit I haven't listened to the whole talk because of a growing feeling of discomfort. I must have misunderstood the forum guidelines. I understood that while we were free - maybe even encouraged - to mention things we'd found useful, we were discouraged from promoting any particular method/product etc. or including links "15. Promotion of products is not allowed. You may refer to a product by name as a useful resource but you must NOT post a link." Whereas 'Ted Talking' may not be a product I think iphone apps are.

I must admit to sharing Diddle's misconception that you were new Simon as I had never seen you post anything before either. Mind you, I have only been a member since around March. I don't mean to be offensive but I was lead to believe when I joined this forum that we should be honest and in fact when I first saw your blog, I thought it was spam. Then I saw 'volunteer' next to your name and became more confused. Before I wrote this comment I went to members A-Z and found your name and in fact this is the first blog you have posted.

It seems clear that you are well known to some of the other volunteers. I love this forum and rely on it heavily so am always grateful for the work that volunteers do.

I do however feel this blog isn't in the spirit of no 15 of the guidelines.

Well, I won't apologise again for being honest or expressing discomfort when I feel the forum is moving away from the direction that brought me here and has kept me here since March.

The SuperBetter site is free to join and is there to help people. It is therefore a resource, rather than a commercial product. We also allow links to local support groups, other websites that are information or helpful resources, etc.

Thank you Lindsey for your response and for all the work that you do. I agree with what you've said elsewhere that there is a thin line between what we can and can't post. If you are saying that this post is within the guidelines then I have to accept that but it represents for me that the thin line has definitely moved and I don't like the direction it has moved in. I am being 100% honest when I say I thought it was spam.

I am always getting myself in to trouble for standing up for other people but I didn't like our Diddle being laughed at for thinking Simon was new. I thought so too as he had never posted before and because I couldn't imagine an experienced member posting something that we have to agree to disagree about being against the guidelines.

I am very, very grateful for all the work that you have done and it seems Simon has worked hard behind the scenes. I know you aren't paid as I have volunteered for more than 20 years in a different peer support group. I know how demanding it can be - and thankless at times.

Christine

I tried to watch this but maybe because I feel so poorly today, I just could not get into it. I will try again another day! It would be nice if the people who work and volunteer on this site did a small intro, or something similar about themselves, It would be a good idea, so we would not have to guess who they are when they blog. This is not a criticism, because you all do such a wonderful job, for which I am very grateful, I just thought it would help the rest of us to connect! very best wishes Caz
