I ask because I have had seizures since long before I was dxed with FMS but they are not epileptic in nature. I actually had 3 during the night last night and am now very out of it. I just wonder if anyone is in the same boat and if so, how do you cope?

does anyone else have non epileptic seizures and is it part of fibro?
I don't have seizures as such, but I do 'phase out' go into a trance like state. It can last anything from a couple of seconds to a minute or so. If i have a long one I usually feel pretty spaced out for a long time after, usually all that day.
As for coping with it, i think you just have to go with it and let it pass.
Maybe you should ask for check up with your GP.
Take care xx
Hi i really think you should go and speak to your GP and just get checked out, i do get spazims ie a pain shooting up my neck going up into my head and lasting for seconds, bit like how i imagine a stroke to be and very painful, but as i said only last for seconds and i'm ok again, and i get these mainly when i'm stressed out ......... good luck
love and gentle hugs xxx
Hello there wheelz, I am not aware that seizures are linked to Fibro, I haven't heard of that being the case anywhere before. I would suggest you go to see your GP to talk about it and to discuss your medications. You clearly need more help managing this. There are medications that are often prescribed for Fibro that can also be seizure medications. The reason being that they interfere with the pain message signal being sent from the nerve endings to the brain, which can help lessen our pain. Two of those meds are Lyrica and Gabapentin also known as Neurontin. Whatever you do please don't stop any of your medications, but please see your GP as soon as you can to discuss your seizures. Take care, please let us know how you get on.
I have just posted a question asking if anyone has sleep paralysis. I have had 3 episodes now and first two felt like a seizure. Have seen Gp and waiting for appt to neurology.
