I am 54 years old and was diagnosed with Fibro before Christmas. I have seen several doctors who have tried this and changed that but I just feel worse.

Since my first pregnancy at 26 I have suffered with horrendous hormonal migraines for which I take proprananolol and fluoxatine to prevent them.8 years ago I was up all night with restless leg syndrome and have had this ever since a nd never sleep more than 3 or 4 Hours a night.

Since my first pregnancy I have has terrible trouble with my teeth and have had 9 or 10 root canal treatments. 4 have had to be redone because of reinfection. I have had amalgam fillings from the age of 7.

For years I have been so cold and cold intolerant and have been told by a natropath that this is my thyroid and my adrenal gland. Doctors test all the levels and say I am normal. But what is normal?

I have spent years been tired, fatigued and wishing the world would stop so I could get off and just rest, but there was no time so on you struggle just trying to get through one dayk

For years I have been saying that these things must be connected through the nervous system and every doctor denied it and shooed me away.

Now not surprisingly I have Fibro and still the doctors are treating the symptoms and not the cause.

ENOUGH. I am 54 and want to walk along the beach with the wind in my hair, I want to snorkel, bike ride, and take part in activities. I just want to live a normal life. So it is time to take my destiny in my hands and fight for myself.

So step one has been taken and I have had all my mercury fillings removed. Within 48 hours I felt warmer. Still my basal temperature is around 35 degrees, buy slowly it is rising.

Step 2 I have stopped taking fluoxatine and am waiting to see if the migraines come back.

Stp 3 will be to come off the proprananolol.

I now have found two Rhumatologists who study fibro but I also need to see an does anyone know of a good one.

I have cried, I have felt sorry for myself and I'm sure there will be many more days that I do again. But through all this I have to fight and I have to move forward.

I don't want to be given more drugs which have more side effects. I want to be drugs free apart from the drug or drugs that is treating the cause.

I will let you know how I go, I will not give up until I can walk and cycle and snorkel without having to lie down for a week afterwards

I feel that having written this here, I have set myself the challenge and I will not give up.

Thanks for taking the time to listen xxxx

Dear Lizzie 575, i totally empathize with your post, I am 50 this year and for the last four years been unable to work. i can hardly stand these days, have just been prescribed propranolo too, my headaches everyday for all the rest. i think my condition was made worse from extreme long work hours with less and less resource. then i went on a world wide shoot and was given 9 vaccines in one day as we were flying out in three days. the pay and fatigue just grew and grew. i wish someone would prove the life expectancy of this condition because all i know is i feel like my body has aged 20 years and slowly dying. anyone i agree and do not like been prescribed highly toxic pharmacutical meds (my friend is a senior nurse) and i read up a lot. i have

contacted an environmentalist dr Sarah Myhill. myhill.co.uk she specialises in allergy, diet and environment. She works with a team of respected bio chemists and offers affordable tests given our restricted financial positions re work. i have met her in person. her medical papers are highly informative. for me her work with bio chemists is fasinating and i know without the supplements i am be much worse off. she is not opposed to medications its just she see patients are suffering multiple dysfunctions in the body. i will not go on about her work but to say i found her to be a woman of integrity, who challenges the status quo, she does not stand alone on her views as you will see on the web and doctors throughout the world sharing similar views and i think they are right. this is my choice of course. she is the only doctor whom conducted a dna check and found nickle on my abducts, now the london hospital are going to look for the same. my concern is how much damage has been done. i don;t believe we suffer of no known cause. i think the alluminium in vaccines on an already compromised immune system (why to long work hours and stress) and once a number of your body main system run low the house start to collapse. i feel exactly as you do i see people larger older than me doing activities i can only dream of now. i am fatigued yet struggle with sleep. I am seeing dr myhill again this month.

you may have come across her already there are also other doctors like her up and down this country. be interested what you think. take care <3

Thanks for te reply. I have looked up Sarh Myhill and she sounds good if not controversial.

I believe the majority of us are born healthy and then we allow our bodies to become contaminated with chemicals and toxins. Who in their right minds would put mercury into their mouths, but we do. It is the second most toxic element on earth and still dentists are using it.

We don't allow our children to lick lead paint, yet we put several pounds of it a year on our lips in the form of lipstick.

We inject ourselves and our children with vaccines which are full of mercury

Every day we wash, do our teeth, wash the dishes with products that contain sodium laurel sulphate. So why is a dangerous chemical like sodium lauryl sulfate used in our soaps and shampoos?

The answer is simple - it is cheap. The sodium lauryl sulfate found in our soaps is exactly the same as you would find in a car wash or even a garage, where it is used to degrease car engines.

In the same way as it dissolves the grease on car engines, sodium lauryl sulfate also dissolves the oils on your skin, which can cause a drying effect. It is also well documented that it denatures skin proteins, which causes not only irritation, but also allows environmental contaminants easier access to the lower, sensitive layers of the skin.

Perhaps most worryingly, SLS is also absorbed into the body from skin application. Once it has been absorbed, one of the main effects of sodium lauryl sulfate is to mimic the activity of the hormone Oestrogen. This has many health implications and may be responsible for a variety of health problems from PMS and Menopausal symptoms to dropping male fertility and increasing female cancers such as breast cancer, where oestrogen levels are known to be involved.

What i've written here is just the tip of the iceberg . But no wonder we end up with an immune system which is shot.

I now do not use products with Sls in but buy natural products. My fillings have been removed and I'm just waiting for the results of my mercury test which is done on your hair.

Another thing that we put ino our bodies are radiated tomatoes, meat that is pumped full of antibiotics and if from the US, growth hormones, and of course preservatives.

This lot can't be good you, it isn't natural. What chance do our delicate cells have against this barge of chemicals and toxins. I saw I DVD the other day that showed in the US that blueberry muffins are not made with real blueberries but some off shoot of the petrochical industry. WHY?

The more I read the more I am changing my diet.

Hi Lizzie, I understand where you are comming from I have suffered with pain sincer I was 12yrs old and now at 47 I am wheelchair bound. But like you as you have decided to take control and long to do activities and general living pain free and daily,I want to walk on a beach or run with our dogs and so much more.

It would definately be so good if some of our medical specialist would actually study, learn, listen and talk to one another and come up with a more appropriate treatment and better support for our needs and we had better understanding of how our health and daily lives are affected by fibro and any other conditions we may have from the benefit agencies etc;

I wish you all the luck in the world on your 'quest' and it is good that you have got all these thoughts out - better than brewing inside- and have a renewed inner strength.

hugs poppy xx

Hi Lizzie

I sympathise and understand exactly how you feel. I am 59 and am scared about my future. I am alone and that does not help.

I know that i cannot go on like this, every day the same old boring seemingly pointless tasks, which I don't want to do. I need to move home to a smaller place which is cheaper too. But the thought of it all fills me with dread and I just walk about worrying over it and not getting the place clear of junk. It's all too much for me.

I was a gardener, but now found it almost kills me to do any bending and squatting. I used to do so much now I spend my days on the pc keeping in touch with people, so I don't feel so alone.

I do believe that our condition is partially due to the muck that is in our food, the way it is grown, environment and lifestyle.

If you have had a lot of stress in your life that also contributes.

I have it easy compared to some, but I am not happy in this life I have.

So what is missing? Companionship! A purpose!

I hope that you and all of us will find a better life soon.

Hii Plumcake ,

great name by the way.

I have some really awful days. I love painting and I have stopped this year because I ache so much? I used to love walking but then couldn't do that because the pain was so great afterwards. I had been running a website which inreally enjeoyed doing but I've now ad to limit the time because I can't once nitrate. I do a twenty mnin walk each day, somedays it good, and some day it kills me. Itry to do something everyday so i have a sense of achievement. Why not try clearing out some of your junk. Just a little at a time. Over a week you will have one or more rooms

done

What about hobbies. I now draw, not good at it, but I'm trying.

Instead of taking one day at a time, take one job/hobby at a time. I wish you all the luck in the world but what you mustn't do is give in, or give up. If you could start to get out a little, you would soon meet new people.

Off to bed now. Hope I get more than 3 hours. Speak again tomoz

Love and hugs
