do i have fibromyalgia

i have tender and painful back and legs, have pain in my jaw, go hot and cold, feel sick, suffer bad headaches, get blurred vision, have numbness in my fingers, sometimes pins and needles. i have well bad i.b.s aswell, im very forgetfull, restless in bed, wake up stiff, cannot get comfy most of the time

It sounds as though you do bannana, but for a true diagnosis, please go to your GP and explain the symptoms, if the GP is not genned up on Fibromyalgia, then don't let him/her fob you off as an ex GP of mine did - by trying to make out I was having growing pains! I was 30 when I initially went for help!- Ask to be referred to a Rheumatologist. Insist on it if you think you are not being taken seriously. It was only after many years of visits to GP's that one finally sent me to a Rheumatologist and then I was finally diagnosed with this horrid disease.

hi cadee, thank q ever so much for your info here.. im going too the doctors today and im not going too let them off the hook. im sick of not knowing whats actually wrong with me, had tests for lots of other health factors and its not any of them.big hugz.xx

No one online can diagnose you. Your symptoms could fit in with Fibro, but they could also fit in with a number of other conditions. Fibro cannot be diagnosed unless any other possible causes of the symptoms have either been ruled out or identified.

You need to see your GP to get the diagnostic process and tests started.

Hi i am new to this but all the symptoms described by banana are what i have got, i went to hospital a couple of weeks ago with bad pain over left side of chest and down arm. After a few days they had ruled out clotting or my heart they put it down to stress or muscusceletal pain a few years ago a doctor at the hospital mentioned fibromyalgia but its never been diagnosed and its getting worse. Went to the docs yesterday who is saying have another week off work because my breathing isn't right because i don't feel i have enough room under my breast bone to breath, he didn't seem bothered just gave me more anti inflammatories and said come back in a week i had told all the symptoms to him crazy do i mention this condition to him or ?

Hope you manage to see your GP very soon bannana and get all your symptoms checked out. Hopefully then you may get a referral and then a diagnosis. If you aren't happy with what your GP tells you, as posts before mine suggest to you, request a referral. Best of luck to you.

hi i would go yo your gp with a list of everything and perhaps mention fibromyalgia and see what he says good luck and love to you diddle x
