Warm welcime how do i get dyslexua diagnosed

in reply to crissy

if you are in any kind of education they must offer you a dyslexic test other than that you can pay for one ... if you are in collage you get lots of help including computers note takers and extra time it can be a push ... if your at school its harder fight but worth it as then you get one to one lessons and help ... dont give up x gentle dyslexic hugs

glad to hear your granddaughter is getting support ... I wish her well and i have struggled with mine however i do have my MA ... not bad for someone they said would never read or write x gentle dyslexic hugs

Hi Lexie, we dont mind any hugs on here, dyslexic or not!. It is surprising how many people are dyslexic, when I worked at the hospital there were a few of the doctors who were although it didn't stop them doing a good job.

Where in Newport do you live, I live in Rogerstone xx

maindee girl ... i know it does not stop any one doing a great job just bad spelling thats why doctor have really bad hand writing lol .... gentle dyslexic hugs

Hi Lexie, good to have you here. I have Fibro and Im dyslexic (or, exdyslic as I call it !!) I only found out for sure that Im exdyslic about 5 yrs ago when I was at Link into Learning, but I had problems all through school. My reading is ok, but I have to read slowly and repeat reading it coz it doesnt make sense as the words jump around and I read it as gobbledygook.Im a blue tint sort of girl, y'know,if I put a blue plastic sheet on the page, I can make more sense of it. I can write and spell ok too. My dyslexia is more to do with co-ordination and recognition and stuff, eg, Ive never been able to do a jigsaw or those puzzles that you fit 2 shapes together to make another. I just dont get it!! So that explains why I always felt a bit of a reject at school. At least I have a valid explaination for it now. Anyway, welcome to our Fibro family.x

thanks ... i get the school bit its so hard but also try big print in books as its easer to read .. less tiring on the eyes i did a whole 20,000 words not spelling dyslexia ot resurch (research) right it drove me crazy ..this is why i find it so funny when i work in my school and i tell my young people i never know if its my fms or dyslexia that makes me clumbsy or my typing a bit odd ... its so much fun xxx
