Hey.....did you ask to have the extension and flexion CT scans done???

I have afwul pain on extension, but was under the impression that only MRI's could be done to look further into it.

I have consistent problems with my neck and go to an osteopath every few months - it doesnt cure it but keeps it at a manageable level. Don't know if this helps? Unfortunately its about £35 a time, but to me money well spent if it keeps me reasonably comfortable.

I have been diagnosised with Positional Cervical Cord Compression (PC3). Please google this. It might be what is causing your neck pain. Dr. Holman spoke in London. you tube has the video I believe

could this be what I have Lynn as I have severe problems all through my spine and after blacking out backwards over the sink at the hairdressers ,I was told never to put my head in that position again. And now have hair in bob and only have dry cuts.

Also can blackout if I look up too quickly,

Just thought I`d ask.Hope you are well

Butterfly, this sounds more severe than we would expect TBH, although your symptoms could fit with PC3. Have you seen a neurologist or orthapeadic consultant checking your neck?

Hello Lindsey,I have had chronic problems with neck and curvature of the spine obviously since a child. But recently when my doctor was checking a very sore forarm. She asked me to turn my head as far as I could. Can`t turn it very far anymore without pins and needles in hands. The incident at the hairdressers landed me in AandE and was told by some young doctor that that position could give me a stroke and was never to do it again.

My G.P showed concern and made noises about me going back to orthopods. But have only just in Feb this year been diagnosed with fibro and Sjogrens syndrome.

And feel a bit overwhelmed at present,to start with them again. They have only ever taken my back as bits (if you get my meaning)and not the whole spine as I have always asked them to do.

Sorry to go on,but what is PC3

Thanks Lindsey Hugs Jayne xx

Sorry Lyndsey I googled the relevent article and I have had the Hoffman test done.

And fell into the arms of the nurse. Now I know what that was about. It was done after I had blacked out at Hairdressers.

It makes for interesting reading and answers why my G.P was trying to rotate my neck.

I`m just so used to at the age of 58 turning my head slightly and looking out corner of my eyes for things.

I was amongst one of the first 15 people in this country to have an MRI,and I`ve been poked, prodded and operated on till I don`t know if I want anymore. So I tend to stay quiete.

This last lot only came to light because my friend draged me to the doctors and made me tell the truth.

I was just plain exhausted.Jaynexx

I haven't had a confirmed diagnosis of PC3, but am convinced I have this based on my history, and Dr Holman agreed. I had PT very similar to what Dr Holman's team now use for PC3 before I'd ever met Dr Holman and it was an important part of getting control of my symptoms. I now get a Fibro flare if I put my neck out of alignment (am otherwise in remission).
