Hi there, getting any part of the PIP benifit is how any illness effects you. The name of the illness is irrelevant. Some may get mobility some may not. Illness any illness effects everyone differently. It's how it effects you that they base your award on. All you can tell them truthfully how your effected on a day to day basis xx

If you search you will find a lot of peoples experiences with PiP and how they got on. There have been a lot of people that have gotten mobility when they are assessed but they are not you or I so they are assessed on what they present as.

The illness does not matter as it is how you as an individual can and cannot do things. I would very much recommend talking to CAB or contacting our benefits line.

Process for me was quite easy.I took paperwork from gp and consultants.I was very nervous which actually helped my claim as my body was quite ticky. One of my conditions mirrors MS.When award came through I felt like a fraud but realise I can be fine some days but need more help others.

You can only try with your claim but claim at your worst day.our conditions are not the same everyday.good luck

Hello, to be awarded the mobility part of PIP depends on your a mobility abilities being able to walk the stipulated distance in a safe and repeatable and timely manner. PIP is not awarded on a disability, diagnosis, illnesses or the amount of prescription medications you have been prescribed. You should visit the Benefits and Work site and take a self PIP test and see how you fair. But please be honest with your answers as should you decide to apply for PiP any answers or information given in your application form will have to be justified at you phone or face to face assessment.

Hi,I applied twice, refused both times. I have a tribunal this afternoon based on my appeal being rejected. My advisor who is helping me says I only need a further 2 points for my mobility to be awarded. I'm very nervous as I can often get mixed up with my words. Fingers crossed I get it at last,as i had to stop my career because of it and have been a carer for my son who has aspergers. Another thing which they i feel discriminated against me,but i have said it's only on a support basis, not physical.
