Does anyone else experience heightened pain in the wet weather?

It's our first full day with rain in a good few weeks and by goodness do I know about it.

Every single part of my body is screaming at me. Heat does help but there are only so many hot water bottles, heat pillows and hot damp towels a person can take. How do you cope?

Stay safe, keep well and be strong, remember and be kind to yourself.

The pic. is not my art but captured how I feel today.

Hi Fibroska. I'm currently laying with a hot water bottle wrapped around my neck. I absolutely feel very sore today with the wet, cold weather. I have struggled today and the only way I managed was to keep moving! Like I had ants in my pants. The min I sit down, I'm as stiff as a board and pain all over with shooting pains in my legs. It's crazy! It's horrible and I'm sorry you are having a rubbish day too. I'm in bed now for another battle for sleep. Sciatica keeps me awake. Take care and hope the sun comes back and you have a better day tomorrow.

Was interested in you saying about Sciatica , has that only come on since your having Fibromyalgia.

Hi. I think I've actually had Fibromyalgia for many years as I've had sciatica on and off for the last 14 years along with lots of other pain all over, especially my neck. Had various MRI scans, but nothing found. I don't understand what triggers it. But I certainly feel real pain and it's incredibly tiring.

Been wrapping myself up in thick warm hoodies lol hot baths and heating on, but definitely feeling the damp weather ☹️

Yes it atmospheric pressure, it makes it painful and for anyone with arthritis

Yes, it is atmospheric pressure dropping for me. Triggers mast cells, hence more histamine and inflammatory mediators, so I get more pain, dizziness, nausea, worse digestion, insomnia.

Hi wet weather makes my fibromyalgia much worse too . Like you I get out the hot water bottle and heat pads. A warm bath seems to help and relaxes me before going to bed. I seem to feel more unsettled in wet weather and become fidgety and can’t settle on one task . Though I don’t feel like exercise I have three dogs who need walking so it’s good that I have to take them out to get moving and the fresh air and being out surrounded by nature helps take my mind off the nagging pains. Take care .

The weather change is a nightmare for me .more pain everywhere when its damp and raining .I sit with a big furry fleece on me on the sofa to keep warm and have to take more pain relief.

You mention war wounds, I have had significant physical trauma in my life and in the six areas where I have had fractures, I have been experiencing a lot of pain for about two days now. Is this your experience too?

Yes, I haven't actually been in a war though and was just using as a term of phrase. However I have had a few ops and injuries inflicted on my person over the age of my existence and this FybroWhatever does seem to irritate and ache old injuries and scars. Some of scars I have are in skin to skin awkward to keep clean area and just for info. I have found that Mycota antifungal foot powder keeps itching and irritation at a bearable level, the pain levels are another kettle of fish.

Most definitely; rain, wind, changes in barometric pressure. My first indication is my head feels like it's full of cotton. My sense of balance goes wonky, then the pain kicks in. My heating pad is my bestie and Epsom salts baths. I hope you find something that helps you to cope. Also, I take magnesium and malic acid.
