again tonight insomnia strikes. i am so tired but thought 5 mins on here would help. the pain is bad and now 2.15am. another hour before pain relief. is anyone else out there?

just remembered a tip to help those who cannot bear cold sheets. put a fleece blanket on the bottom sheet and another over you if required.great when away from home.

hi Diddle. I am in a bungalow and sometimes swap from recliner to bed and back several times a night. (my friend has cfs and does the same) I prefer to move out of the area causing grief and start bedtime process again, sometimes it works. hope you feel better after your stumble, maybe a walking stick would help? I am smiling with the sun today! xx

I started with it 2 years ago and my gp gave me amitriptlyn and i had to keep working up to the amount i needed.

I have finaly got it now that i take my tablet an hour before bed and i sleep right through aslong as noone wakes me up that is.

Its the best i have slept in a long while.

Is there nothing else they can offer you as i am also on gabapentin and that helps sleep and pain.

It is awful when you dont get a good nights sleep,my pain was even worse at that point.

Dont know about you but if i dont get enough sleep i am so ratty and awful to live with anyway before fibro lol

I am also bad without sleep jazher and then the pain seems worse. I can only take paracetemol at present because of af, thyroid, and asthma amongst other things ; some upset my stomach and morphine causes the 'fog'. when i have got used to my new antidepressants, my gp is going to tackle the pain with the pain consultant. the team are working hard to help but it takes time. The pain is in the same place as where i damaged my spine falling downstairs! Just been out shopping for a bit and feel better for it. everyone knows in my family - let sleeping mums lie!!!

Interesting what you say about fleece Gypsycrafter - I use a caravan a lot on the weekends in the late spring, summer and autumn and sleep better in there than in bed. I sleep in lightweight fleece sleeping bag liner on one duvet and under another. At home I struggle with cold sheets - will be off to the market on Thursday - thanks for the great idea. xx

hi spirit, i found it by accident, but use my fleece a lot as i have a camper and it is a handy size. i have been living in a park home and afraid of fire in both places so it is a good alternative covering large areas of the body. xx

Thank you all for your comments and empathy. I feel much better today after some sleep. I had a 3 hour journey yesterday with 'fog' and pain but a good hot shower when i arrived helped to relieve back pain. Then to bed (arghhh! dreaded word) right!! nice warm bed a pile of pillows under my tum and hot water bottle on my back..... gone before the telly was off! (it has a timer). It is a lovely day today and I will try to get out for a bit. Hope you all had a good night! soft hugs xxxxxx
