Painful upper arms!!!!

Hi.. I am new on here so please forgive me if this is silly question! . I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in August and dont really know what is and isnt the fibromyalgia. I have horrendous pain..mostly at top of arms which can ease at times but at the moment I am struggling to even lift arms to put a coat on or even deodorant. Does anyone else suffer with this? Thank you for your time 😊

I have the same problem...

just out of the blue last august I woke up and the tops of my legs felt like I had done a gym session the day before... really heavy painful feeling! Then 6 weeks later the tops of my arms started started feeling the same... it’s difficult to walk and difficult to lift my arms and really painful if anyone’s touches them. X

Yes!!!!!!!!! Its driving me mad as I'm spending half my day doing and aaaarghhing! So frustrating as it's too painful to do anything! 😡 thank you for your reply! Feel better knowing it's not just me!

Yes, I have the same issue , I have slipped discs that are causing issues tbh, the docs say they should have healed but I still have a lump at the back of my neck. 🙄 I generally feel very exhausted aching all over and sore in ankles ,wrists, fingers, everything tbh xx

Fibromyalgia is really tough, but there are some practical things you can do to help ease the pain and fatigue. #1 Try to get good deep sleep. I take something to help with that, but I also take a 10 mg bi-layered melatonin. #2 Try to stay away from sugar and stress. Both can trigger flare ups.

I’m sure there are others here who might could share their journey as well.

Yes I get pain in my upper arms, it drives me crazy as its last for days and hurts when a lift my arms

Arms when I have to lift them to do something, like kitchen work or cleaning windows. Quick short energetic movements, even with lots of weights, are OK, but anything above one minute is very hard. Qi Gong arm movements for instance.

For myself I'm realizing that twisting them outwards and inwards a few times helps a lot (like legs too, 10-30 secs.). And my acupressurist is going target my chest and arms, after my legs & back are better now, after 5 months of acupressure 3h/wk.

I find repetitive movements like peeling veg or grating cheese etc so painful and wears me out in no time! Maybe they should get us to do practical things like that when testing for fibro! That’s real life 🤷🏼‍♀️
