Today it arrived... the dreaded PIP review form.

Hi I hope everyone had a good day and weekend. I had an ok weekend, mostly spent in bed with various pains and aches. But this morning I went into meltdown at the sight of that big brown envelope from BELFAST. 😬Whoever thought 20 odd pages of paper could bring me so much negativity. I am going to have my writing hand operated on ,on Thursday and won’t be able to use hand for 2weeks +. They want the form back by the 25th Feb😮. So guess my next day and half will be spent weeping over filing it in. Sleepless night ahead I guess 🥴.

Hopefully you are ok to get some sleep Tonight. Thanks for the long post but basically I am scaredy-cat 🙀Xxx

You are very welcome. Had a busy few days as it's hubby's birthday today. Pushed myself too far so I've been told off by hubby sons and girlfriends!! I just didn't want to spoil it for him or them as they are my rocks, as well as family, friends and all if you on here. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Hi That’s lovely Lynne. I am sure that it was really appreciated you pushed yourself. Excellent that your efforts were recognised by the family as it shows great understanding of what you are going through and lots of love 💕. Have a good day Hun. Xxxx

Go for it, you have nothing to lose. It took me around 7-9 days to complete😳 I know there are agencies who can help you do it for free but had no energy to see somebody else for it.

Good luck 🤞🌹

Many thanks for your support and help Lynne. Xxxx

You can ring and explain that you're having surgery and ask for an extension, which would allow you a few more weeks before you would have to send it back.

Remember when you do post it back to send it recorded delivery so it has to be signed for, as they have a habit of forms "going missing" if you don't.

Good luck.

I would contact them and ask for an extension to complete the forms, I think they forget that it takes about a week from the date on the letter to actually arrive on the door mat.

I found the questions on the form online and actually started writing my responses for the form several months before the form arrived. I started a "Word" document and did a bit of it every now and then as I felt able to . Once it was done I would go back and check /edit it as and when anything changed or I felt it could be worded better and that saved a lot of stress & panic when the form arrived.

It would also be worthwhile contacting either the CAB or local MPs office for assistance in completing the form. In my case my local MPs office has staff who deal with Benefit forms and they took away some of the stress by dealing with the DWP on my behalf.

As well as returning your form using a "Signed For" option, don't forget to make a copy of it in case it goes astray.

I always type both my ESA and PIP forms for both my wife and I. All I write on the form to each question is please see question 1 or whatever question it is on type written sheet. I always put my name, national insurance number and date of birth on each sheet. My answers over the last 15 years are stored on my external hard drive along with any GPs or consultants letters which I scan as they arrive. I am at present going through the DLA to PIP process my form was sent 16 weeks ago, my F2F was 12 weeks ago. In that time I have needed to inform the DWP of 3 changes in my circumstances in relation to both my conditions and medications. Having all my information stored really helped as things changed I was able to alter my answers in relation to the change, print them off and send them.

dear lynn676, I had pip assessment last year, had to go to luton on the hottest day of the year and it was awful, more because of the weather on top of being almost sick with nerves!! Just be yourself, tell it how it is, do not under any circumstances be snappy, it doesn't help but you will bet through it. you could try phoning Belfast and telling them about your hand operation, they would probably give you an extension, they will only do this once, but if it is too difficult to fill in try it, or is there anyone who will fill it in for you, they will accept that as well. good luck, try not to let it make your illness worse by stress, as oldham12 said below, there are plenty of people on this site with expertise, advice and simply a listening ear [or pair of eyes!] I had a letter from the dwp on Saturday, even though logic was telling me it was probably nothing, it still made my heart sink in my boots !!

Take care, Lyzzie.

Aw bless you. No wonder you felt awful on the hottest day. Did it go ok though? Last time I had a F2F she told so many lies that I had to wait until it had all been to court months later. I am now diagnosed with more things than before so do you think that will help ? I just hate all of this stuff as it always seems to go wrong. I moved last Summer and the DWP stopped the disability payment on my ESSA for 6 months. Their mistake and I couldn’t get council tax relief and Housing Benefits etc. Scary stuff as I could have ended up homeless.

Hope you have had a good day and thanks again for your support. Lynn xx

/to lynn676 by heck girl, you've been through the ringer and no m istake, I have never had that much trouble, touch wood, though I did get reported to the DWP by a so called anonymous source as earning extra income as a prostitute that I found hilarious but my friends didn't, if you could see me you'd understand, you probably do don't you, but unfortunately a close friend of mine was accused of paying for services, we know who it was but what do you do, people can be very odd. How could the assessment people treat you like that??? I hope she was disciplined if not sacked over her behaviour, these people have a lot of power and some of them like to wield it wrongly. I think they clone these assessors in a warehouse in darkest middle England and bring them out ready brainwashed when they need them!. I did have a bad time with my first assessment, it was supposed to last 20-30 minutes. but I was in there for 2 hours, my friend that drove me there was ready to break down the door, even more so when I had to go back and see the doctor, I have AS, R.arthritis, [since childhood] Sjogrins, [can never spell that] fibromyalgia, heart problems, sleep apnoa [probably misspelt that too] the doctor sat me down, looked at me a said "what are you doing here?" I could hardly say "because your nurse assessor didn't like me" could I. Is that what happened to you? I cant believe how badly you've been treated, fibro reacts badly to stress, I admire you for your strength. No one can predict how they will behave, I seem to deal with it better than my friends do who immediately start snarling everytime I get a brown envelope. I know that they have a job to do, theres a guy in the village who only uses his wheelchair when he goes to the doctor, but were not ALL trying to rob the system!! I don't suppose I've said anything useful but if I could support you anyway, I would. GOOD LUCK.

Lyzzie.

Hey! As others have said you can ring for an extension they normally give 14 day extensions! But please take note of who and when you spoke to someone as I remember the time I did not it was not noted on the system.

Regarding the actual form you can type it on a computer, you are not obliged to hand complete it. If you think this helps please use a computer and on the form refer to the word document

Get all your paperwork ready and send what you deem necessary, please take copies of whatever you issue. Answer everything properly and informative.

Good luck!!!!
