I have it as I type. When I wake up in the morning I feel like I have spent the night weight training rather than sleeping and my bi-ceps and forearms feel like they are on fire. Sound familiar?

Tiny09

Yeah mine r permanently on fire frm top to bottom, fine when it warmer weather but as soon as it drops lyk it has atm am in constant pain

Mine is caused by either osteo-arthritis or more probably a dental infection. Have you had an MRI scan? How is your dental health, if the answer to that is poor it might be worth you making an appointment and describe ALL of your symptoms

Had an mri earlier this year as they thought I had tennis elbow, i did have it but nt badly, after tht it sorted its self until we've had a sudden drop in temperature outside I've got the burning feeling bk!

Wish there was a cure 4 this, and how do ppl adjust to having fibromyalgia

It takes time, also endless patience!

For the first few months it can be any little twinge and you think 'Here we go again,' but you will be able to differentiate between what is Fibro and what is something else soon enough.

Cheers, Midori

As soon as weather drops its lyk here we bloody go, n they start burning lyk there on fire, under my skin frm top to bottom of my arm, nw am getting a shaking feeling

Yes, with Fibro, we get Weatherwise very quickly! I try not to go out when the weather is damp, but I'm retired, so it's relatively easy for me to avoid rain and cold. I feel sorry for those who have to work in it.

What about your dental health, is that good?

Tiny09 profile image
Tiny09 in reply to mhigton

Yeah thts fine wonder if it steams frm tennis elbow

mhigton profile image

That's outside of my experience. I have your symptoms but mine is, as I said earlier attributable to either osteo-arthiritis which showed up in my MRI or a dental infection they have found. I will know in a day or two which it is.

What does strike me is that 'Tennis Elbow' and dental infections are both inflammatory in nature!

Hi there tiny09

I have exactly the same with my arms. I suffer with restless leg syndrome that has travelled upto my arm's as well. All down to the fibromyalgia.

The pain we experience from this condition is mind blowing.

The only tablet that helps me a bit is a muscle relaxant called baclofen. Hope that helps.

Sending gentle hugs 😘

I’m waiting for a scan on my shoulder can’t lift my arm the pain seems to be in the bicep muscle had since May wakes me up during the night can’t get comfortable bet they say its my fibromyalgia. Fed up at the moment. Waiting for physio sent a letter to say the waiting list is huge so could be some time.

I have that. I have bursitis and tendonitis in my shoulder plus osteoarthritis

Hi. This is how mine first presented. I have it all the time but to a lesser degree. I think we have to learn to block out our pain and just live as best we can. Gentle hugs ❤️

Yes I get a lot of pain in my shoulders, elbows & hands. Some days I cant hold my hairdryer up. Can get pain anywhere with Fibromyalgia. Try and avoid things that mean staying in fixed positions to long. Things like mowing grass used to be issue, now I cant even knit for more than short periods.

Heat pads can help, good luck with everything.

Yes i have weakness rotator cuff trouble arm pain plus RSI and my arms are my biggest problem connected to Fibro.

Nice to read in the comments about being scanned as having tennis elbow as this is what i also think i am struggling with currently. Then again Tennis elbow is a form of RSI so they may just treat me the same. So frustrating.

I see my GP again early december after being sent packing with more meds. Hope i can get a scan on my arms and hands as then they may take it seriously in how much i do struggle. Really frustrating and its taken me years to grieve about what i have become.

Happens all the time when temp drops cold, I had an mri as they thought it was tennis elbow, there was little tares there but nt enough to warent treatment, it sort of rightened its self but its gone again with temp drop, frm top to bottom of my arms, stiff, burning feeling

Anything inflammatory can set it off, unfortunately. For me, it was gall bladder removal, followed by Shingles!

I get it too. Exhausting. Best to try to relax n rest. Also been trying stretch exercises. Stand in doorway hands shoulder height on door jambs and take one foot forward feel that stretch. Count for 5 or 10.

Do it right n you get a stretch on the hamstrings too. Another area that gets tight causing foot pain and issues walking or even standing. You want to feel the stretch not pain . Do it 2 or three times each foot. Don't go crazy. Little and often is the way.

Also read that massage hooking thumb under shoulder blade at the bottom under armpit helps. Really hard area to get to and mine really painfull but with all my ministrations it did ease the pain which climbs up my neck into my head when bad. Tricky if your hands hurt too! Need a friend perhaps.

Something to try if you are out of options hey?

Im convinced my fibro come on because of the RSI. All started from being told i was fit for work yet i was lying on my front job searching on the laptop plus searching the web and having never heard of RSI i was well its pain yet its not hurting as much as if i was sitting.

My arms have been in flair since August and its only just getting easier after spending less time online ( thankfully i can sit now so try ro sit as correct as possible) plus i am now on Pregablin and i have stopped using my worse arm and rest/ stretch it as much as possible without causing more pain.

I’ve been in bed all night in “sleep pergatory”. I’m not really all the way awake( till now),but definitely not in a deep sleep. All I can think about is the pain in my arms, and the crawling on my skin. A lot of time the pain gets incorporated into my dreams. I understand when you say you just want to scream! I want to scream right now “ WTF out loud! Give me an F-ing break!” But all the people in my house are sleeping soundly, so I come here in the middle of the night instead. I feel discouraged today. I just have to hope tomorrow will be better. I hope you feel better!

It can get you anywhere. Mine is almost totally below the waist, but as I grow older I get other aches and pains, including osteoarthritis in my hands and wrists. Makes it dofficult to cook or do my craft work.
