Hi, I have appeal related questions please?

Firstly I need to ask my GP for a letter of support, which she is happy to do. Do I need to detail the kind of information I need in the letter, or do I trust my GP to write what I need?

Also, I have been advised to keep a dairy to detail my 'problems' but apart from writing birthdays and appointments, I have never kept a dairy. Is there anywhere that I can see an example of how to write a dairy so I know the kind of things to write in one?

Any help on these two topics would be really appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi- someone really should have advised you to have all the paperwork in hand before applying, its imperative to give the beaurocrats at DWP as much as possible to consider your application, I personally made a word document and saved it about illnesses and how they affect daily life (not just what you suffer from) leave no stone unturned including personal hygeine problems. It has meant I can add to this document when I need to because I have been diagnosed with other illness since I first applied 3 years ago.. Good advice to find your local welfare rights officer to help fill out forms,, as for g.p it would be better to send in to him/her your word document so that they dont miss out any vital information, they are so busy it does happen

Your Doctor will need to concentrate more on your functional problems rather than condition. For example.....Mrs C as severe pain when mobilising or Mrs C as poor grip and power to hands. Limited movement to right shoulder due to ......... Doctors often list conditions thinking that they speak for themselves unfortunately the decision makers have little medical training at the DWP and give decisions based on guidelines. On the mental health side he could state Mrs C always attends with..............Due to Severe Anxiety and needs constant support.

Hi Thingee, I have got a great document I used for my daughter, it list all the PIP descriptors you can take it to your GP sit down with them and select which ones apply to you, its just tick boxes, get him/her sign and date each page. GP's are busy so tick boxes work well. Also remember to be able to do each activity, you must be able to do it reliably, repeatedly, safely, in a timely manner, if you can't you cannot do it! Don't know how to get this document to you but you are welcome to it. Can you personal message me or you post your email address or phone number.
