Can I ask what people are finding helps with their pain and symptoms. Are you are prescribed medications or using herbal remedies. Open to any advice that would help me please.

Hiya. I'm prescribed co-dydramol and take between 2-6 a day depending on my pain levels (I hope to stop these eventually and try all natural). I recently bought CBD oil which hasn't had impact but I think I may need to up my dose. I also have vit D and magnesium supplements. I was on pregabalin for about 6 months but didn't like the side effects. Are you taking anything at the minute? Xx

I'm also prescribed Co-dydramol & mostly take 2 twice a day but can take up to 8 tablets a day. I am also prescribed Vit D3. My Vit D levels were 17 when they first investigated, they are now up to 73 but one of my Consultants told me that still isn't good enough, though my GPs think it is fine!

The NHS pain management team in my area got me on a modified Tai Ch course, helped with the understanding and amount of movement I could do and showed me how to improve on it. I very rarely take pain pills 💊 of any kind. That’s not to say I don’t still hurt here there and everywhere, but I have a better understanding of my limitations and know what I can do and what I can’t, most importantly is knowing when to stop and rest.😀

I haven't been on anything for 2 years, was originally prescribed gabapentin which caused my eye to haemorrhage writhing 6 hours, 12 months later was given pregabalin same thing happened. I've managed on paracetamol and ibuprofen. I also have osteoarthritis of my pelvis, hips, lower back, osteoporosis and ME/CFS. Due to increased pain over the last 4 months I was commenced on naproxen last month with no effect. I've had a massive flare up and been wiped off my feet since Wednesday, I was prescribed morphine patch for 7 days yesterday at emergency out of hours GP. Been to GP today they want me to continue on Naproxen and have now prescribed Duloxetine. So we will see what happens.

My gp point blank refuses to prescribe me any kind of pain relief instead just prefering to up my antidepressants.. I tried gabapentin for about 9 months, getting up to 900mg three times a day, but no benefit..

So on my own I’m trying magnesium citrate, vit d, and vit b complex.. I’ve tried cbd but no benefit for me.. probably the thing that helps most is hot baths..

I’m on naproxen, Zapain and tramadol and Embrel injections (Biological Therapy) for my spondylitis. I have tried pregabalin, gabapentin amatriptaline and duloxetine but no use.

The Duloxetine was horrible to come off it took around 4 months with terrible withdrawals.

A lot of my friends swear by CBD oil, I tried it for a year, worked for around 6 months just taking the edge off but stopped working after that.

Good luck 😉

healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., hello there, I do have codiene prescribed from my doctor and only use it when I really need it, I’m trying not too have much in the way of pain relief as it messes up my stomach so I tend not have paracetamol etc, heat for me with resting periods is good , my hot water bottle has been out on my back etc especially it has turned cold again the last few Days . I use a rub on freeze gel on worst areas, and also found a company from Somerset who make their own natural products one for fibro patients pm if you would like the name. I differently found when we had the Easter weekend warmer weather it differently helped so roll on the warmth again. I’ve posted a link above if you would like to lock your posts. X

I have tried lots of things in the past but the side effects and sickness have been terrible. I now take Tramadol and started on CBD oil a week ago. It seems to be helping without any side effects but need to try it for longer.
