I feel like that's a question for a doctor. I hope you find some relief, hugs.

Tahnks Mate.Doctor say that’s the only medications can help the pain actually medications do help the pain when I take lyrica and amitriptyline together but unfortunately they have a lot of said effects weight gain and killed my sex drive I’m still very young😭

Reply

Hah I get it, I’m young too and I have no life because of all this. I’m not very pro-drugs anyway, so unless it really helps you I’d look for something else too. The only thing that comes to mind right now is ketamine.

Joy2018 so that is why? You are not alone. My husband is always saying “I can never get laid!” He says he is joking but it isn’t coming across as joking. 😖 I have had fibro for over 25yrs and am still not having any good advice right now. 😢

Hi Sarahivt, thanks do you any medications or anything els for fibromyalgia to manage the pain with less side effects.

Cheers

Hi Joy2018, I’m in better spirits today. 😊 biofreeze is like a lotion that is similar to bengay but is more natural ingredients. I am currently on Amitriptyline, ultram, gabapentin, flexaril, hydrocodone for really bad days, I’m on a whole list of medications for other conditions I have that I blame on the fibromyalgia being an autoimmune disease. 😊💕🦋

Hi Sarahvit,

Thanks for your comments I will try that. Cymbalta does help the Fibro pain but it makes me so tired and a lot of other side effects. it the beginning I used take 50mg lyrica and 20 mg amitriptyline but unfortunately the pain has been getting worse now I take 300 mg lyrica it doesn’t help.

Reply

I would talk to your doctor. Lyrica didn’t help me it gave me bad side effects or it just didn’t do what it was supposed to it. My ex was on lyrica and it helped him. You will unfortunately will have to try several different meds before you find something that helps. Then when you do some doctor 👨🏽‍⚕️ will come along and change it. That has happened to me so many times. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I hate when they put you on something and it is working and not causing bad side effects like knocking you out or causing you to itch like crazy.😜

Reply

Thanks Sarahvit

I have visited him several times but unfortunately the new medications he puts me on thy have more side effects than lyrica.

Reply

What did he put you on?🤔 I guess you are still in the trial and error period? Have you seen a rheumatologist or pain clinic?

Reply

Hi Sarahvit, hope you doing very well no yet I’m still on site and it take about a few months to get an appointment with Rheumatologist in Australia shortages of specialists.

Reply

Hi Joy2018, hope today is a low pain day for you. Hopefully when you get in to see the rheumatologist he will be able to get you going in the right direction. 😊💕🦋

Reply

Hi Sarahvit, thanks same for you. Yes I’m fine today if I don’t work and relax at home I’m alright but whenever I go to work do some activities it get worse .

That is the very natural of fibro. This may help Pre-Dx supplements. You can google it to find out about it. I have the gene 🧬 mutation which is talked about on their sight. Taking the supplements I have noticed suttle changes. It is worth checking out. 😊💕🦋🌻🌷💜

I have started different kind of herbal medications as well which coast me nearly $1500 a month but unfortunately they don’t help at all. Actively I’m looking for any new suggestions just wondering if psychologists or psychiatrist can help me my GP Doctor refered me to rheumatologist he says I don’t need to see psychiatrist actually I don’t know exactly which Doctors I need to see for fibromyalgia?

Reply

I see a psychiatrist....🤔..PA and counselor who just got a alpha stim for pain so she has been using that on me. She has chronic pain down from her spine down one leg. So see can relate to what living in pain is like. She also has me doing mindfulness mediations to help cope with the pain. So it is worth a shot. 😊💕🦋

Just was reading your comments and you referred to ketamine - a rather potent drug?

Veggi, ketamine is being used by people for pain and depression - either microdosing or IV treatments. I’m not a fan, especially of microdosing because of dependency and I feel like it’s escapism and not healing (at least in case of depression). single treatments make more sense to me - to improve one’s state temporarily and use that time to take steps towards actual healing.

I haven’t tried personally because it’s expensive and what I already mentioned, that I would do single treatments if anything and only if I couldn’t se other ways, because I’m not a fan of meds in general.

Hi I’ve suffered from fibromyalgia for about 15 years and I’ve now resorted to morphine. I have 45mg slow release in the morning and evening and oramorph in between as a top up. I am also on pregablin 300mg twice a day and lofepramine this seems to be so far better than anything else I’ve tried. I am unfortunately having a bad flare up at the moment and been in bed a lot I could sleep forever just no energy. Everyone reacts differently to medication so I think it’s trial and error.

Hi my son also has fibro, he has come off all the meds as the side affects were worse. The meds didn't really help with the pain. He has recently gone on a Juice diet and although he still has some pain after 5 days he has more energy and less pain. He watched a 2 short films called Fat Sick and Nearly Dead made by Joe Cross. Check it out online. He was getting so depressed and this diet has really changed his life. Good Luck

I started by spending hours in a hot tub daily, great if you can access an outdoor jacuzzi, then I got an electric bike, reasonably inexpensive are available, or second hand. These are great, because you can work as much or as little as you wish. At this time I was reducing predislone and cut out carbs. No bread potatoes rice etc. Improvement happened and I got back to the gym. Now doing circuits spinning. Kettle bells etc.aybe I am lucky, hope you can try anyway, take it gently slowly and listen to your body, but try your best. Good luck

Hi there! You've got to check out Motorbikers Cosmetic Company out of the UK on Facebook. All natural products developed for people with fibro. One of the owners has fibro and her boyfriend is a scientist and have developed some amazing products. I'm here in the US so I had to pay more for them but they're worth the extra $$. Pain Slayer balm is amazing!

Reply

Hi there, Thanks for replying I just have looked the Facebook page just want to know have you used or know a anyone that has used their products if they work for fibromyalgia ?because I have bought some supplements online before but none of them helped with pain.

Much appreciated if you share your experience with their products or on my personal email?

Hi, yes I'm using the Pain Slayer - love! I'm also using the Good Night shampoo, Sleepy Head Conditioner, the Sleepy Head oil and bar soap. Really like all of the products. The Pain Slayer is really helping my sore muscles during flare times - shoulders, neck and lower back.

Have you tried dihydrocodeine? Also, my boyfriend kinda lost his sex drive lately (he's got fibro) I think because of side effects of pills. Also, he wasn't able to ejaculate when we had sex (most of the times), which you can imagine how frustrating it can be for both. Was easier when he did it alone, but not always.

Reply

Sorry to hear that. No I haven’t tried that, but as far as I know these type medications for nerve pain and depression have sexual side effects the amitriptyline is the less side effects he can use bupropion it does help sex very well increase libido and also help mood. wish him to get well soon .

Reply

Thank you Joy. Unfortunately my bf is very stubborn and not himself lately, I blame it on the pain and meds.. 😓. I will try to suggest bupropion to him, but I bet he will say he already takes so many 😂.

I have tried different type medications for fibro cymbalta does help the pain very well the worst it completely kills sex drive and fatigue and tiredness

amitriptyline and lyrica help me with pain but a lot of side effects.

I have this - I have studied it too. I don't take any medication. I advise acupuncture, Chinese herbal drinks, chiropractor, hypnosis, frequency treatments, counselling. I advise you studying deep breathing, hot 2 hour lavander baths and listening to affirmations and meditation recordings. You are important, and you need to reset your nervous system. You need to relax and slowdown your lifestyle extensively for a while. Google parasympathetic nervous system - knowledge is power.
