High calcium and high sugar levels

Hi I’ve recently been in hospital and have a virus attacking my lungs I’m struggling with high sugar levels and also have high calcium levels

So sorry to hear this, you must be feeling so unwell.

What are they doing about the high calcium levels? How high? Do you know the actual result?

Or was it just slightly raised and now back to normal?

Did the hospital doctor refer you to an Endocrinologist to investigate and treat the High sugar and high calcium levels? Did you have a scan?

Sorry that you have been so unwell. If you were in hospital they should have treated your raised calcium level. They shouldn't have really discharged you without treating a raised calcium level, unless it was only slightly out of range. You should still have an urgent follow up. Did any doctors explain to you why the level was raised and the treatment they have given you? If you were taking calcium replacements and didn't need them that might explain a high result. Sometimes you can get a random abnormal result so it should have been repeated.

You need a parathyroid blood test done in case your calcium level is caused by hyperparathyroidism.
