anyone heard an update from this, it was first said around 2013!

There have been some promising studies on a possible diagnostic blood test for fibromyalgia. It's called an FM/a test. The test collects plasma and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) in a small sample of your blood. ... Significantly lower levels of cytokines may be an indicator of fibromyalgia.19 Jan 2018

I just looked, looks like there using it in Canada and the US. It says the UK as well but I've never heard of it. Why are we not being tested here.

FYI I applied for it but they informed me New York doesn’t allow it because test don’t meet NYS lab credentials. Plus many doctors are not aware about test.

sorry to here your GP couldn't help maybe not enough trials are being done, it does say in this article to ask your GP but obviously it's not as easy as that. It is concerning you could spend years addressing Fibro when you don't have it and vise versa.

No point asking my GP here in the UK about it then. You would think if they had a test they would use it.

I just read the article and most insurances cover it now, Maybe if you contact a lab they can tell you how your Dr needs too write it on a lab sheet ? I see my Rhumetologist tomorrow for a first visit I know Blue Cross covers it so I took lot's of pictures of the article so I can get the test done. I'll post tomorrow on how it goes
