I drank for over a year while taking duloxotine and they had very little effect on my depression as well as pitting on 3stone I struggled to go to toilet, sleep eat in fact my whole life went down the pan until I stopped taking them . A year later I'm back to normal health .I'd strongly suggest NEVER to drink and take Duloxotine.

Drinking on duloxotine
Hi Chris... I'm not sure by your post whether you were taking duloxetine only for the year, or whether you were on them for longer.
That your symptoms improved once you stopped taking duloxetine would suggest to me that you were experiencing severe side effects from the medication, not only because you were drinking while on them xxx
Hi there I’ve felt so much better I take 60mg of duloxetine it has helped my anxiety and depression to not having anything really, my doctor said I could have the odd unit of wine but not every day, it is hard when friends are socially drinking around me but I don’t want to feel the way I felt before I started on it. So I know it’s hard but I’ve managed to do this , I do miss my tipples but not strong willed when it comes to chocolate, got to have some pleasures in life. I do thing though like hazel has said you properly had side effects due to the combination, but well done in going forward with out the meds , wishing you all the best x
Not sure if you are aware but certain meds can be destroyed with alcohol- if it says on the tin avoid alcohol and driving it means so that your meds work for you..How do you feel without either?
The NHS Leaflet on Duloxetine says: "Can I drink alcohol whilst taking duloxetine?
Drinking alcohol may make you more drowsy, restrict alcohol intake to 1-2 units per
day (1 unit=1/2 pint beer or lager, small glass wine or measure of spirit). Consider
avoiding alcohol if drowsiness is a particular issue for you."
