Newly diagnosed less than 24hours ago, with fibromyalgia following about a year of feeling poorly everyday and not ever feeling like I've been asleep.

I have endometriosis diagnosed 13yrs ago and Fowlers bladder disease 5yrs ago, I also have ibs.

Self help ideas please.....

Hello Lizzie,

Sorry to welcome you to our gang because none of us want to suffer; but glad you have found us as we’ll all try to help you.

Without going into my medical complaints list, to bore everyone, I have had IBS since teanage years.

I was advised by my consultant to adopt the FODMAP diet. No onions, garlic or mushrooms and avoidance of gluten, lactose, peas or pulses. There’s a comprehensive list of foods which can aggravate the digestion and if excluded or minimised can really help to reduce the symptoms.

It’s a pain when 2 of our favourite food flavourings have to be excluded but you learn to adapt, eg using leeks instead of onion, ( not the bulb though).

Check it out and check with your GP that it’s suitable for you to try.

Take care x
