i wonder is this because BIG PHARMA companies haven't worked out how to make the extra billions from sufferers just yet 😁 😂

Yes unfortunately funding is the issue. Fibromyalgia is not a condition that the UK government set aside funding towards despite it being more prevelant than other conditions plus it is not a ‘popular’ or well-known illness that people donate to and possibly due to lack of understanding/lack of knowledge it struggles to get funding. Other causes who are also worthwhile seem to get the biggest chunk of funding.

We need to keep petitioning for funding and hopefully one day we will get the help we deserve :)

Totally agree with that Mdaisy, it's exactly the same here in Ireland, although things getting slightly better, they now acknowledge it is a disease, but service for suffers is slow, drawn out, and many consultants don't understand the harsh issues that come with the suffering it gives

Trouble is fibro isn't fasionable, isn't life threatening and with the constraints on budgets not surprisingly it is left as the cinderella of medicine :( One day when I win the Euro millions........!!!

We need research this is so wrong that we are ignored ............. a life of chronic pain can be in my opinion compared to torture everyday 24/7. All this advanced technology and yet they still don't know how to help us - it seems bananas as you say!!! Keep the hope alive is all we can do I suppose Pen x💜🤗

Thanks for all your worthwhile comments and opinions. I think Dinkie is correct that it isn’t life threatening and there just isn’t enough funds to go round all the illnesses. However, I think if the powers that be actually experienced the symptoms of fibro for a month or two let alone years, maybe they would be more inclined to do further research.
